Ya, thanks but no thanks. Not going to buy a refresh of a refresh of a card from 2016 when Navi RX 5500 is about to hit the market. At least not at that price, make it 150€ and I'd jump it. Oh, but who am I kidding: https://www.kuantokusta.pt/search?q=RX 590 This price since the start of September...
Everyone its needs. If you are primarly a single game player like me, and this card match monitor / fps needs at that game, well is great.
I still use 480 8GB for 1440p, it works well. The only drawback with the 590 is the immense powerdraw. "the 580 had a TDP of 185W compared to the 590’s 225W"
Where did you get the 225W? The RX590 was an improvement from the RX580: 185W to 175W. https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/radeon-rx-580.c2938 https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/radeon-rx-590.c3322
I was checking on Video Cards lately, all RX590 that I saw has some major issues with cooling and noise. There is a reason they are not sold well and there plenty of stock left. It was a rushed product (RX580 on steroids) to compete with Novidia. RX590 needs some tuning in clocks and fans speed before it can be finally be somewhat useful.
This seems like price stagnation to me. I purchased an rx480 for my son years ago for like $220. Same chip higher clocks I believe and newer node correct?
