Thing is that report isn't anything new. As per what it is there are reports that it's North Islands, there are other reports that it's that really odd codename Hecon something something...

People said the same thing when DX 9.0a,b,c came out... in reality, these are just small revisions to DirectX to improve it. I don't see why you're whining...

Microsoft just named their revisions differently instead of using letters they use decimal numbers to do the same thing.

Ya know, if Manufacturers took the same approach, they would get roasted by the competition. They ARE literally pumping out the latest and greatest AS FAST as they can. That's the name of the game. Especially for AMD/ATI who are desperately crawling back for more and more market share while Nvidia sits and twiddles its thumbs about its next move.

lmao Nvidia will be behind by a huge margin when this comes out, unless the Fermi is unbelievable, ill buy a Fermi when its in its 3rd Gen cos no doubt the 1st one is having problems, the 2nd one will be ok but the 3rd will be tuned to the nuts :)

ill stick with a Ati 5770 until then :)

The only card I'm aware of that had staying power is the 8800GT/GTX. In the old days you had to buy a whole new computer every third year to stay current since most things were done CPU side. These days its $300 every other year instead of $2500 every 3.

Yawn, they aren't moving any faster. Just because 9.0c -> 10 was long doesn't mean that it sets the precedent. Almost every single DX release prior to 9 was about a year apart, with the .x/a/b/c/d 's falling in between.

And yet my cards still play everything fine. Maybe Crysis 2 will be a real reason to upgrade.

I doubt Crysis 2 will require a lot of horsepower considering it also comes to the consoles.

And I doubt there rumors since I have never heard a word about 11.1 before.

32nm might be true though. Likely more shaders etc and possibly faster GDDR5 RAM modules.
