So they state it has 2 sli connectors yet the pic only has 1? Fishy. I wouldn't trust this info leak at all.

And big lol at all the guys who have jumped on and said F*#& you nvidia, is this all you have?? Guys, we haven't seen the card perform, I don't think we've seen the card due to the dodgy mis-description they gave us, so I don't think we can comment just yet.

i remember first finding this website and people boasting their 512mb of ram on their video cards.

now this card is said to have three times that amount of ram on the card.

i'm not complaining about the card, and i am putting my faith in the hands of the game developers who are going to be making use of that 1.5gb of ram.

i seriously doubt those specs as that would make it slower than a 8800GTX. although i think the 9800GTX will have 160sp's 24ROPs 32TMU's and will probably be on a 65nm die with a core clock of around 750-800mhz. probably have ethier DDR4 or DDR5. and around 1 GB of ram. and it will be 20% faster than a 8800GTX. ofc this is just wot i think.

uuh, the 9800GTX is probably going to be based off of the 45nm manufacturing process.... which is the same as the 8800GT/8800GTS 512MB IIRC.

Whiplash: again..... the 9800GX2 is 30% faster than the 8800 Ultra, and we can possibly assume the 9800GTX might be 20-25% faster..... but the thing that will probably make it an awesome deal is the price. smaller manufacturing processes allow for smaller manufacturing cost, which means lower MSRP. If the 9800GTX winds up being in the high $300/really low $400 range.... that'd be great, and i can honestly see that happening so they can still compete with the prices set for the 3870 X2 and such.

.... on a side note...... the 9800GX2 is said to be replacing the 8800 Ultra. Anybody else thinking that it could be released soon, and quite possibly be the reason that no 8800 Ultra's are listed on Newegg anymore?

With the expected MSRP and the performance increase it wouldn't make sense to buy 8800Ultras anymore:)

It hasn't made sense to buy Ultras since the G92 GTS release. The cost vs. performance was much much lower on the Ultra.

yeah.... but it has to be a sign that the GX2 is on it's way. i mean.... wouldn't make sense to remove it for no reason. F*ck.... Newegg still has GeForce FX's on it.

Seems prudent to reserve judgment until a true high-end 9 series card is actually released and tested with confirmed specs. No point :bang: over this even if it is true though. It's just a video card. I mean seriously... who really cares if the next series isn't earth-shattering? So don't buy it.

Looks like complete bs to me... as usual... Until it's released and at least reviewed by more than one or two sources (or in my hands) - I won't believe these leaked reviews, etc... It wasn't this bad 10 years ago, but the last few years this type of leaked hype has become more and more common.

The younger, less experienced crowd seem to bang the loudest.

Come on be real. The 8800 series was (honestly) amazingly good. So be thankful that its still the best. Remember the VGA war a year and a bit ago between the 7900 series and the X1900 series. One came after the other. It really sucked.

So I'm thankful the 8800 was just that great. I'm sure the 9800 (being a die shrink) will do better than the default. I don't know about the 256bit BS though. :S .

    Doesn't mean I'd buy the 9800 though.

Specs are meaningless with newer gen cards. Different architectures, better efficiency and optimizations can yield much higher performance than specs would imply. example: 256bit g92 > 320bit g80, thats a lesser spec, yet the cards perform better, and so on.

i'd rather see crysis being playable at 60fps on a ws res rather then having extra 2-3 fps which won't help a thing ...
