What a shame to learn this, Danger Den known for their Liquid Cooling parts (check a review from us here) announced that it is going out of business. Danger Den offers no explanation other then than ... Danger Den Closes Shop
Oh, wow. Sad news indeed. Danger Den was the absolute schzznit back when I started with watercooling years and years ago. My first waterblock was a DD block, powered by an Eheim 230v pump and a Black Ice radiator. Ah, the memories!
Another US company going out of business because of this sh!tty ass economy. It's sad to see them go.
Cant say I've ever bought any of their gear but have enjoyed watching over the years what other modders have been able to do with their tech. A real shame, there goes another bit of PC history.
I didn't buy anything from them either (never went full watercooling) but I remember drooling watching all the awesome rigs in magazines or modding competitions that used DD. I don't think Corsair or other closed loop "semi-wc" had that much of an impact, since they quite a bit cheaper and target a different segment of the market.
I don't think it's just the economy that's doing it. There are soooo many competitors these days, and the list is growing.
Learned how to take a graphics card apart using one of his vids on YouTube, in order to put aftermarket cooling on the card.
This is sad news. They were one of the better known brand names. Most people who have used higher end water cooling equipment would never return to the all-in-one kits as they are only marginally better than high end air cooling. They do however do a good job of bringing people, that would have stayed with high end air cooling otherwise, towards water cooling. I think it's likely down to the economic climate and increased competition.
Excessively high prices have a tendency to cause companies to go out of business in a poor economy....
i concur, there is a lot more competition for high end computer parts these days. wish there was something i needed, but alas i'm good. and i missed the cases.
