Nvidia GPUs fly out of the fabs – and right back into them Using AI to build better chips Like salmon returning to their ancestral waters, Nvidia's GPUs make their way back into chip factories. TSMC, ASML, and Synopsys are all using Nvidia's accelerators to speed up or boost computational lithography. Meanwhile, KLA Group, Applied Materials, and Hitachi are now using deep-learning code running on Nv's parallel-processing silicon for e-beam and optical wafer inspection... https://www.theregister.com/2023/05/20/nvidia_ceo_gpu_ai_chips/
Devlog #1 - Upgrading Brickadia to Unreal Engine 5.1 For a huge performance uplift Brickadia has integrated PhysX 5.1 in the UE5.1 engine instead of using Chaos for physics. Good to see out-of-the-box thinking and decision making. "In the Open Alpha, we had upgraded the physics engine in Unreal from PhysX 3.4 to PhysX 4.1 for significant performance improvements with brick collision. Our bricks are now also directly integrated with PhysX for collision detection rather than going through the slow abstraction layers in the engine. Did I mention that we like PhysX? So what do we do about the fact that Epic deleted PhysX from the engine? Yes, you read that right - a key component we've relied on simply disappeared from the engine. It was replaced by their custom "Chaos" physics engine, which at least in our tests, currently runs at significantly worse performance for the kind of simulations players will undoubtedly create in a physics based sandbox game. Luckily, we're not bound by sanity as an indie developer, so the solution is obvious: We just have to put PhysX back in the engine! Oh, and they just released a new version, so let's upgrade it to PhysX 5.1 also while we're at it. It was all worth it in the end, because we now have a branch of Unreal Engine 5.1 that can switch between Chaos and PhysX 5.1 with a single build setting. The PhysX version runs several times faster in large simulations, and our brick collision code can now work again. The engine also compiles faster without the Chaos code in it, improving iteration times. As far as we know, we're currently the only ones with such a branch."
physx has been in more games than people realize, it's just not marketed on the box anymore, sort of a default feature.
Nvidia explaining that 8gb 4060 cards have architectural improvements, caches and new technologies to compensate for lower VRAM capacity on their cards. https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/news/rtx-40-series-vram-video-memory-explained/ And of course followed by an explanation that where some applications or gaming at high resolutions require more VRAM, they have made a 16gb version available.
IMhO lowest for entry level 1080p should be 8-10GB. 8GB is fine. For 1440p tho the minimum should be 12-16GB For 4k 16-20GB Not one of my games have any stutters so far, and i've never saw more than 8GB used (real Usage not pre-cache) 4090 RTX will always show more than needed cuz' of big VRAM buffer = More pre-cached assets. and of top of that most of the users get DLSS in their games so it will also mitigate this problems.
So, No Ultra settings at 1080p for You (Texture popins) @ 459€ (w/VAT) lol DOA for sure, so NV now selling Old Radeons 6700/6800 for sure is a better deal.
Pathetic gpu from nvidia. Slower than 3060 ti at 1440p. 10% faster at 1080p. There are actually people that reviewed this card well? LOL
Biden trade curbs on China risk huge damage to US tech sector, says Nvidia chief The US risks causing “enormous damage” to its tech industry if it continues restrictions on trade with China, according to the chief executive of the chipmaker Nvidia... In an interview with the Financial Times, Huang said: “If [China] can’t buy from … the United States, they’ll just build it themselves. So the US has to be careful. China is a very important market for the technology industry.” https://www.theguardian.com/busines...e-damage-to-us-tech-sector-nvidia-chief-chips I would agree. But Jensen only cares for Nvidia where China makes up a huge chunk of their business. 2022 Nvidia sales to China were over $7 billion. https://www.statista.com/statistics/988037/nvidia-revenue-by-country-region/
IBM was also very concerned about the tech sector and their profits. So they sold lot's of equipment to ***** Germany.
So Nvidia gaming revenue increases by 22% in Q1 2023 compare to last quarter (2.24bil usd revenue) https://nvidianews.nvidia.com/news/nvidia-announces-financial-results-for-first-quarter-fiscal-2024 That means 4070Ti/4070 are not sitting on shelves like delusional techtubers think they are LMAO
Nvidia nears elite trillion-dollar market cap club of Apple, Microsoft, Alphabet and Amazon The chipmaker saw its shares surge 27% on Thursday, bringing its market value to just under the $1 trillion mark at about $974 billion, per FactSet. It was $755 billion at Wednesday’s close... Look at that sharp spike at the end representing Thursdays surge.
