If your gpu is maxed, then it is just that, no more to give. I think your doing pretty good with the 6700xt at 1440p. How is the motion on screen, smooth or still stuttering? Frostbite with the settings cranked up does get pretty demanding. The cpu fans on my 5800x3d run pretty hard when playing 2042. I've been spending some time just unlocking attachments and vehicle upgrades on Conquest PvE set with bots set to Advanced. Definitely good practice. Over expose yourself and they will kill you quick.
The bots surprise me a lot. They will shoot you down in a heli with a rocket launcher and do some really "player" style actions. It's pretty challenging if you're not on your toes and this is on normal lol, so I'd like to see how it is on hard.
2042 performance is great tbh, it does hitch here n there, compared to say, Rage 2 which I have been playing which is just flawless, but 2042 is very playable, I am absolutely LOVING it, it's an AMAAAZING game. HOWEVER, they absolutely NEED more flags on some maps, and to scatter harmless mobility Motorcycles around the maps and add 4 to the call in menu. Ones which are nippy and manouverable. The mobility is still nothing short of painstaking a lot of the time for an infantry player like myself. I am getting to know the maps much better and using the tac insert to mitigate the situation but sometimes I still look around and just leave because I cba killing myself and respawning or running for 2 minutes to get sniped and start over. I am a huge huge fan of 2042 but it still neds work. Some of the most fun I have ever had on a BF I am having in 2042. Incredible game. I still find Spearhead the most functional map - I wish they had a map filter.
When you set them on Advanced you die as quickly as when playing against people for the most part. Not to say the AI are smart as they will let me roll a tank on a flag in a confined area and let me nuke them. They will AT you but not in mass and rarely a C5 attempt when driving armor. The AI air to ground is good, they will hound you. The AI infantry fighting although is pretty good. You can take 1-2 head on but 3-4 or more and you'll lose almost every time. Playing with some of the weapons and the first SMG you get is actually a monster of a gun. Good at close AND medium range.
The last couple of maps (spearhead & flashpoint) have been good. They're just the right size for infantry & vehicles. I can't say the same for breakaway though, it's not scaled down enough to be all that enjoyable for infantry players. Most of the action ends up being centered on the oil rig which gets kind of boring as you running in circles defending those two objectives all round.
It's funny how players differ so vastly - this would be the exact situation I LOOK for. Anytime there's a set of two flags on a map which are fought for back n forth are my favourite games. I guess that's because there is no alternative on these crazy maps though, if you take Devastation from BFV there was still loads of action but yet there was ALWAYS somewhere to go anywhere on the map and quickly. BFV had some great maps. Al Marj also was brilliant.

Is it just me or is being in a squad in this game totally pointless? Nobody ever seems to stick together or even revive, playing solo can be pretty frustrating.
Yeah its a bit frustrating this, people plays a lot alone and dont care about their squad and people dont waiting for medic to revive.
It is by design. When I say the current people at DICE don't know what they are doing, I didn't stutter.
Battlefield 2042 Patch 4.1.1 Release Notes Chat Improvements All-Chat functionality is now available. You can once again congratulate the other team for dancing on top of your downed body. All-Chat will be turned off by default when this update goes live. If you wish to partake in friendly chatter with the opposing team then you’ll need to turn this feature on via Options > Display > HUD General > Chat Section. Resolved an issue for console players that were unable to assign an input to Chat Visibility. You will now be able to assign an input via Options > Controller > Edit Controller Mapping > Menu General Improvements Resolved an issue that resulted in the CAV-Brawler “Earthshaker” Vehicle Skin from interacting with world objects. Resolved an issue that prevented some players from selecting equipment from the second and third Weapon Station / Pods within the Vehicles Collection Screen. Resolved an issue that resulted in some players losing access to Irish’s APS-36 Shootdown Sentinel. The Damage Dealt Statistic at the End-of-Round Screen was shown for players more often than intended, this has now been adjusted to its intended frequency.
They announce majority of patches in advance. Likely the update will drop tomorrow as they usually update weeky assignments/game modes on tuesdays.
The last patch removed some of the flag capture indicators (ex: It's an icon showing how close you are to capping a flag and if it's being contested by the enemy team). Aiming at the flag itself will give you this information, but it's also removed on random capture points as well. Very inconsistent.
having a 6800xt doesn t clear the fact that this game uses a lot of horsepower, ur gpu is high end one,and it s not really that optimized tbh, the game needs a 3 series card to achieve reasonable fps for a competitive shooter, so no it s not really optimized enough
Wifey and I are having a great time with 2042 ever since they made major changes and refinements to the game such as changing the specialist system to make it more in line with conventional classes (and removing the God awful one-liners and actually replacing it with more engaging lines that align more with what you'd expect from someone on a battlefield). I dare say this is a pretty good BF game now, although I wish they'd utilize environmental destruction much more and bring back Levolution.
Yup, it is a fun game to play. I wish they would drop the price on it some. Got it on sale for $18 a few weeks ago as I was very leary due to the negativity. It does have the BF feel. But as anxiousfox stated, kids these days don't get "Battlefield". Why even be in a squad when the overall player population approaches the game as a single player campaign? Rule 1: It's a ticket bleed based game....reviving your teammates matters.
Isn't that a general thing in multiplayer games? The majority of players doing their own thing with complete disregard for team play and coordination?
Unfortunately. I don't get it...the newer generation of gamers got into a habit of playing single player games and can't grasp multi-player? I haven't played with a group of friends in a BF game in a long time. Oh the memories of just smashing unorganized squads...miss those days.
I don't think it's limited to younger generations as I think it has more to do with how you can always quickly find a new game to join or other people to play with so you're not really committing yourself. You may find the harder it is to find people to play with (or the longer play session you have with the same people) the higher the odds that people eventually start interacting and maybe even bonding.
