Just like with New World, where the 3090 FTW3's using this analog controller were dying, 3080Ti's using this same chip are experiencing black screen and then card failure when trying to run this game without a framecap.

Owners can confirm the usage of these problematic chips via TPU high res photo's,

Current reports are all Gigabyte 3080 Ti Vision OC owners, but I'm sure more parts will be mentioned as this continued case of poor component choice comes to light.

I thought Gigabyte Vision was a quality card. Wrong I was.

I owned one, it was not well made. Their customer support is pretty lame. My takeaway from the experience was that Gigabyte should be avoided.

I even saw a video yesterday of Mortismal Gaming, who's 3080Ti apparently died while playing the Beta, too, which he mentioned in his video about his first impressions. And he's not that big and doesn't really profit from saying that (he reviews games and does next to no hardware coverage at all).

Gaming OC and Aorus are decent quality gigabyte cards.

i haven't found a high enough res photo to tell you what are on these cards, but i think i remember buildzoid saying they weren't assymetrical.

If you buy them in bulk, Digikey sells that buck controller for about $1.2 a piece, I wonder what price Gigabyte gets them for, no way they'd spend that much on a component, even for their halo cards.

Who knows, maybe they have been sold a shipload of bad or fake chips. It's a growing "business" and might just have hit here too, especially in the times of supply issues.

I have a 3080ti Eagle, so the base model one tier lower than the vision. Played the beta, had no problem. I'll watch the development of this though before I start the game again.

no, its a known flaw with these old power drivers and usage in highly variable conditions.

Some users reported their gpu broke even with fps cap and vsync.

Noob question, but is it about power transition spikes then?

Paying high bucks for a GPU only to find out you have to avoid certains games to protect the same GPU...

    Talk about bad luck.

Diablo IV’s Monsters Are Not To Blame For Killing Your GPU, But High Framerates Might

Most reported cases to appear to happen with the Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3080 Ti (various models), one EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, and a single case with an AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT.
However, it is unsure if these are genuine cases of graphics cards failing or gamers clamoring for attention during this noted issue.

statistical defect here, these cards are widely unaffected as they use the sane onsemi's as the 3090 rev 1.0

Also that single case of 6900xt is just a coincidence. AMD users are safe. :p
