what would be my next upgrade after i7 10700 and rtx 3070 with 16gb cl16 3600, for now i am happy with the performance especially in cod warzone 2, where i am getting constant 130 fps at 2k res.however, if i ever need to upgrade from this, what would be a really good and significant boost from this? i don t want to buy a cpu that will give me only 20 more fps, and pay money for just 20 more fps.i want a real significant boost worth the money.

I upgraded to zen4/ddr5 and its running miles faster than my old zen2/ddr4.
Spiderman saw 30% jump as one of the most cpu demanding games.

Idk what other games you play but as we are going forward for gpu 12gb vram as a minimum in 2023 so 4070 or wait for 7700xt.

I did swap my 3070 for 6700xt becouse i had alot of issues at 3440x1440 with 8gb vram.

All depends om what you want to spend. Sounds like youe happy with where you are at though, so maybe save up and wait and see?

ur jump was most probably due to 6700xt has more vram and is more efficient than the 3070, not because of cpu

Jump was before i swapped the gpu. Still depends on the games you play really.

For a cheap upgrade, go for 32GB. You can probably get another 2X8GB and be done with it.
Some games are starting to demand more memory.

im starting to feel that the i7 10700 is noit enough for warzone 2, i didn t get any jump in fps going from the 3070 to the 3080 in warzone 2 , fps still the same actually, maybe warzone 2 is just a shite optimized game , coz any other game it s utter smoothness, but only warzone 2 is giving me a headache with the fps drops i get..128 fps outside, and indoors drops to 115 depening on which area i am on the map

Thats a cpu bottleneck. It depends on the map i guess. What is the fps when gpu usage drops?

It depends on the map, if im indoors fps drops, outside, fps is 130- 128

How can an 10th gen 8 core cpu be a bottleneck , i fail to understand...it s mind boggling

Framerate goes high cpu isnt able to keep it with the gpu and usage drops. cpus from previous generations of intel and amd can bottleneck despite having more cores. 10gen is old at this point. No rebar, no pcie4 support.

So what do u recommend getting a cpu that doesnn t break the bank and is able to support the 3080 in warzone 2

Lol 10th gn has rebar, I told you you're confusing it with r3000.

If you need more than 115-130fps get a 12600kf, z690 and ddr5 6000 and OC CPU/ram. If you every need more than that, 14600/14700 should match 7800x3d for less money.

The most significant boost would be a 4090 and a 7800X3D or Intel equivalent.
Obviously that's also the most expensive but everything below both in cost and performance is on a slidding scale.
Yes you can be smart when you buy, save a bit of cash by not going for more expensive pre- OCed GPUs, lower speed RAM and a Mobo that has features you will actually use, also minimising bottlenecks in the games you play by buying hardware tailored for those games.
But ultimately as you pay more cash, you get bigger, faster, stronger stuff.
