As long as people keep paying those price, nvidia will only increase it and lock other people out of that price range. Eventually it will halt down, even if a bit, though AMD does not really rival nVidia at all as the 7900XTX pushes people toward the awful 4080.
£900 for a midrange card is day light robbery! They got accustomed to the miners and scalpers and are trying to make out these prices are normal
1000€ for a 400€ card. Ya right. Ngreedia can shove them up their arse! PS: there was a time I used to upgrade GPU every 2 years or so. The time between upgrades is only growing larger for me, I'm not going to pay a premium for a product that will not even last the warranty.
The only ones who snapped up the stock of the overpriced crap (aside from the 4090 which sells simply because it's the best) were scalpers, and they ended up stuck with stuff they couldn't sell at MSRP/were denied refunds by companies LOL. The scalpers can buy it all out day 1 again, and get stuck with stock again.
I hope gamers use some of their brains for once when purchasing a GPU and make sure Nvidia sits on em this bs is about 25-40% too expensive to make sense even taking inflation into account. I still remember getting the gtx 670 for 400$ then a gtx 980 for around 500-550$ and i believe my gtx 1080 was maybe 650$ but exchange rates kinda sucked for Canadians when the 1080 came out. so if this is expected to cost 800usd thats 1085cad lol 100% increase in 10 years when at most it should be 20-30%
All the people saying this need to face reality, no amount of posting on forums will have the slightest impact on prices. In the country I currently live in a jar of coffee is three times the price it was two years ago, and the same goes for many items, but people will still buy them. If anybody wants to play the most advanced games at the most advanced settings then they either pay the most advanced prices, or they keep wanting.
+1 Plus, it's a hobby. A hobby. Playing games. Playing. Why ppl act like its baby formula prices is beyond me.
The price. MSRP is a joke anyway and it costs way more than $1200. It's an $700-800 card at the worst case scenario. Shame the 7900XTX is not that great.
Its a $700 card two generations ago, but its 2023 and like many things in life, prices have seen a reset. My car is two years old but I've been offed way more to sell it than I paid in Nov 2020, it is the way.
https://videocardz.com/newz/nvidia-geforce-rtx-4070-ti-3dmark-performance-leaks-out This thing is barely faster than a 6800XT (more in raytracing, obviously) or a RTX 3080 Cards which were priced at $650 and $700 more than two years ago. Not only that there is no progress in all this time, but it's actually going backwards ! Truly deserves this meme:
Spoiler Based on your link it nips at the 3090Ti, out of curiosity what were you expecting the performance to be like?
Or even better I've got an second hand 6800XT PowerColor Red Devil that at 1.2V runs faster than 6900XT and was 400 EUR ... couldn't care less about new cards especially overpriced Nvidia ones. GPUs arent fun anymore at above 1000 EUR ... and they dont scale well with that money. Gaming industry is behind a lot and most games recommended are 1xxx 2xxx cards from Nvidia and their AMD equivalents. Maybe for 4K 120FPS gaming yeah you need a brand new card but for 2.5K at 80-120 you can do just fine with a 6800 / 6800XT or 3080 / 3090.
This graph is utter garbage and synthetic benchmarks also. I only consider real game performance not this. In TimeSpy I can score 21-22K with 6800XT with a nice overclock but sadly I dont play benchmarks.
