Will this be a global setting that can be used in all games or is this something that has to be enabled in Windows and on a per-game basis? I am still stuck on Windows 10 Pro 22H2 on my current build due to its age (i7-4770K) but have selected Windows 11 Pro for my new i5-13600 build due to arrive sometime in December. I was initally going to stick with Windows 10 Pro due to reading about various issues with Windows 11 but decided to opt for the newer operating system instead to save me installing it later on what will already be a new PC anyway. Did I do the right thing or should I have stuck with Windows 10?

I saw this thread and looking to build my new system depending if I can hold out for the Ryzen 7x00X3D or go 5800X3D, but is there an LTSC equivalent of W11? Just asking to prepare...
There are a couple of these performance issues that I've been experiencing for a few months now on 22H2, most notably the dual antivirus running concurrently bug. BitDefender would cause a lot of annoying delays. Now I understand it's because Defender was also running when it shouldn't. I also had to exclude Battle.Net games because they would just drop to desktop randomly, and BNet client was being choked doing secure server access, and dying as a result. I see they also addressed the issue with game performance. \o/
I wasn't. The OS bug was running Defender AV passively when it was supposed to be disabled when it's not the primary AV. Ergo dual AV running. On another note, the game performance is fixed. Game that ran at 53 fps at my test spot is now running 60 fps. (On my 4K@60 panel)
ah, referring to this > It addresses an issue that affects Microsoft Defender when it is not the primary antivirus. Microsoft Defender fails to turn off passive mode. This issue occurs when you turn off Smart App Control (SAC). micorosft don't even test their software against third party AV's anymore.
Just uninstalled KB5020044. Known bug, task manager too dark, unreadable UI. Can change it to light theme but also changes task bar to light. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/release-health/status-windows-11-22h2#2969msgdesc Also found better, more customizable TM replacement (Process Hacker).
Already uninstalled the update. But you can see it here, left side dark text against dark background. https://www.elevenforum.com/t/task-manager-dark-problem.10842/
Its no biggie if you can tolerate a white task bar. Whatever theme affects the task manager also applies to the taskbar.
