So no more scalping and they suddenly have to deal with single customers? How bothersome...

I´m amazed on how small the premium is between the air and liquid versions, making the latter a much better buy.

the only difference is the Asetek patent and having to pay it.
these are monster coolers specially engineered for a specific gpu so their (manuf.) cost is sky high and as much as an aluminum radiator + cold plate/block. but the radiator set-up is defrayed by having more models and aios to create economies of scale where the jumbo air isn't - so Asetek loves it

I think I would definitely prefer the much thinner and neater water cooled versions of these new 4090s. The new "oversized" air coolers have just gone to ridiculous sizes in an attempt to "outsize" the competition, with some sort of bigger-is-better mentality. Can't even fit the air coolers in my old HAF 932 it seems to me.

Only problem I have is space for the radiator that comes with them - I already have a 360 push/pull (6 fan) EK Elite taking up entire top of case, so nowhere to put another 240 radiator.

Seems as well as new GPU, new RAM, new CPU, new power supply I now also need a new CASE. Its like they design all this stuff to be obsolete?

If you have space in your case for the radiator yes but some may not have it so the air version is the only buy....

Better if Nvidia would sell an "enthusiast edition" without the oversized cooling solution - just the board - it should be cheaper - so we could buy our gpu block and backplate of preference for a custom loop.

You can stack radiators, like in cars where the AC condensor, intercooler, oil cooler and radiator are stacked one in front of another in some fashion. You'd obviously have to up your fan speeds to compensate but it would be an interesting experiment to see how much of an actual impact on temps there is, plus I'd imagine your 360mm is understressed as is, so maybe no difference.

Yeah, thats only because they only had made so many this time. Not because people are buying them in the hundreds of thousands. We still have plenty of 4090 in stock here in Australia. Also in Nov expect all of them to be in stock again and not sold out as that is when they will have finished the next batch.

Hm I wonder what one post has to do with the other... Oh right, maybe that's why they haven't sold out in Australia yet :). They have in the world's largest market, the USA.

LMAO.... I mean come on. O well let them collect dust I'm not buying. Funny the one without liquid cool is more expensive. Only 100 bucks but still.

Wait are you telling me the reason why the 4090 has sold out temporarily was that so many people are buying these in the USA, or is it because of the limited supply that was created by the AIB and Nvidia? hmm, I wonder which one looks more correct.

AMD lowering their expected results, PC Sales in the last year has dropped massively and all tech companies are following with lowering their expected results in sales.

Na, that all must be fake news. Nvidia made a billion of these cards and they all sold out. "sarcasm"
