I see you've been giving your 4090 a workout. Awesome videos @kx11. What is your overall opinion of the 4090?

Im closer to you in speed run... just purchased that benchmark (what a waste of money xD)

    https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/81223230?

But the benchmark defaults to 1440p, and i'd wager that im a bit cpu bottlenecked aswell here... i'd be interested in seeing custom 4k runs from the both of us ?

Edit : oh lol, what do you know... my score is actually nr 91 in hall of fame, though yours is still 27 !

    Edit 2 : speed run with resolution set to 4k : https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/81223552?

Depends what you play... with cyberpunk you'd deffo get MUCH better performance with a 4090, even at 1440p.

What are people's thoughts. I've got a 5900x with Gskill Samsung Bdie Trident Z neo DDR4 32gb ram, 3800mhz CL14, and the Suprim X 4090. Loving it so far.

I strictly game at 4k, but am wondering if my cpu is powerful enough. Do I need to make the jump to the 5800x3d? My average, and high fps numbers are within range, my concern is the 1 percent lows and smoothness. Ovbiously the 5900x is a very powerful CPU, and completely demolishes the 5800x3d in multi workloads. Thing is, I strictly use this computer for gaming, browsing, minor lightroom editing (really not much, with being a busy parent, and working).

Should I wait a year and get a Ryzen 7000 series, or an Intel 13th gen. Just wondering how much the cpu bottlenecking will affect my pc and gaming experience. I know one user on here has similar specs as mine.

IMO, it's either stay the course, upgrade to a 5800x3d, or wait for 6-12 months and upgrade to 13th gen Intel or Ryzen 7000 series.

    Thanks for all the advice.

So far I've only tested BF2042. At 1440P Ultra + RTX enabled I was only averaging 110 FPS on 128 player conquest. My power draw was around 190W-220W, does that sound right? I was also getting some frame spikes. The temp was maxing out at 50C.

    -edit-

Alright, so when I enabled DSR to upscale to 4K I'm getting slightly better FPS, around 120 FPS and no frame spikes. Power draw is now hitting 260W-300W temps are averaging 60C.

Anyone ever use MSI's anti-sag bracket before? Did it keep the card from sagging? Or is the anti-sag stick better?

Trust me there is no space lol, and i aint going to squeeze it.
Good news is, i came across another reddit user, same case/gpu and he got the vertical mount and its perfect.
So i've ordered the vertical mount and the toughpower 1200W ATX 3.0 PSU.
For reference here is the guy from reddit with the vertical.

There are people forcing the glass in and bending it....i dont think you want to do that with the provided cable, but you should be ok with the actual 12v single cable. There is also the 90 degree one (which for the love of god should be provided by NVIDIA not AIB)

On a side note, in terms of sag..the TUF GPU is very well build, the entire gpu is basically cased and reinforced so there is very little sag.
The coil whine...however...well its very noticable as i dont have a glass covering it all, and i am hoping a psu replacement will sort that out. (My psu is 8 years old lol 1050x from seasonic)
The temps in my room with this gpu is like 58-61c lol, i cant even hear the fan, and on some games like World of Warcraft it draws so little GPU W the fans barely spin as its not hitting even 50c.
For comparison my 3080 did about 300W, and this one does 90-100W. (FYI WoW is heavily cpu bottlenecked)

What CPU do you have. It maybe your limitation or it may be the game itself. You probably need to try more games.

If you solely game at 4k, then the 5900x shouldn't be a bottleneck at all. I doubt getting a 58003d will gain you much except maybe higher minimum frames, but that's about it.

    The 10900k, it's bottlenecking at 1440p in BF2042. COD:V didn't have that issue.

Why, its a genuine question/observation. Its not trolling as if you check any of my posts im not interested in any particular company, rather performance/cost/availability.
Surely everybody is interested in what comes out next and what NVs answer will be, if any. Id be surprised if there wasnt some more performance hidden away in the 4090 that can be unlocked if needed.

To check if you are cpu bound/memory performance bound in BF 2042:
Set resolution to 1080p and low settings. What kind of fps are you getting?

This is pretty much the fastest it is possible to get in BF 2042:
    Intel cpu, 7800c32 tweaked ddr5, 4090 @ 3000mhz.
1080p low to show cpu bottleneck.
