RTX 4090 Owner's thread

Mine arrived last friday Msi gaming X Trio version. It's quite the upgrade coming from a normal 3080 10gb. My god that performance !

Going to order a cablemod set soon with the new angled adapter !

 

Getting a lot of hate on my imgur account with the picture I posted of my rig.
Are people just dumb or jelly?
new flagship twice as fast as the last at almost the same power draw?
What's not to love?

 

Poor people is allways jelly on forums. Get used to it

 

All 10 fans are installed. Very quiet with nice airflow. Now I'm waiting for my custom kit. The 4090 is nice and cool. Extremely happy with the Asus Tuf OC.

You should really consider getting another case though - the gpu is barely getting any air there.

Two troublesome brackets that were tad too tedious. The pump hoses were also partially covering the LCD screen.

 

I have the 7000D sitting next to me I think come Xmas I might get a new CPU/Mobo/Ram and then I'll transfer everything over.
last night my buddy came over at 8Pm and it would have taken forever to swap over every component.

I can't even break 10,000. To be honest I'm quite a ways from it and that's with my GPU overclocked to 3040mhz. LOL!

I've been debating on the RTX 4090 for the past few days.. but I get the feeling my 9900K will bottleneck it at 1440p@170Hz.

I was trying to hold off doing a full system rebuild/upgrade until next year. Do you think would be best to just wait and keep using my 3080 10GB until then?

 

Imho keep the RTX 3080 for now and wait for the prices to get down if it ever happens

 

I know quite a few gamers (4 that I can recall) with 9900k, 10900k and 11900k processors that are happy pairing them with the 4090. They plan to upgrade when 14th gen is released. You will still see a huge boost in framerate if you decide to make the purchase.

Your current system is still awesome. This is totally your call. If you have the chance to grab one at MSRP I would say go for it. The miserable scalpers are back in force!

My original plan was to go 13th gen but I was convinced to try AMD. I also wanted to play with my 4090 immediately lol. My old case is too small so I went with a new build.

I'm very happy with it. Microcenter is AWESOME!

I have Hitman 3 but never installed it. Sheesh it looks demanding. I'll install give it a whirl.

Yah I was thinking on waiting for Intel 14th gen.. not to mention needing a new case too for these monster video cards. Doing a case transplant always sucks so probably just wait it out until I'm ready to replace the platform.
