Is there ever an eGPU enclosure that can house and power this monster?!

 

Will this run Crysis? also I wouldn't mine picking up a few frames on minecraft.

 

Judging by that power connector cable, not for long.

 

I actually find the AIO one to be the best looking, I usually don't, but the 3.5-4 slot AND length on the air-cooled ones is simply beyond ridiculous this time around.

 

Can we get a banana for scale?

 

It`s not like they have any other option, the cards are really massive in terms of size and weight.

I have a compact case (Lancool 205 mesh) and i don`t know if it`s big enough for those benemoths...

I see nearly all 4090's come with a support bracket. All these have it i know for a fact.

At nearly 3" thick and 3 kilos it'll need one to stop the sagging.

And i thought my 300mm 3090 was big. These are all like 360mm.

 

I need to go buy popcorn and enjoy the show when reviews come out because some of those cards like the gigantic gigabyte teased by derbauer, where it dwarfs the already fat FE are going to be pretty crazy

so if I wanted one I would need :
1) a model that's custom loop ready
2) a 600w connector PSU
or
1) a model thats waterblock compatible
2) a waterblock available
3) a 600w connector PSU
(3) is not going to be available until december and waterblocks or models probably too and that's after AMD release

p.s. my 3090 is 330mm and I'm never getting such a long card again it's so close to my reservoir it kills all airflow between bottom and top, it made wiring a big problem because I now have to come from above or below rather than at the right of the card, I couldn't even use a 355mm insanity like the asus rog
it's also 2.4kgs and I'm holding it with a screwdriver extension normal brackets can't hold this, maybe on my x670 I can re-use the lian li system it wasn't super solid but worked

 

my 3090ti and 6900xt are both watercooled I tried running on air in my phanteks 719 cases the 6900 was ok just as it heated the case so it took a while to normalise but the 3090 was overheating, even with liquid cooling it takes a while to normalise the loop temp after a long session and I can see 38 degc on a very large loop, these 4090s dwarf both those cards, its just insane how massive these things have become I mean 4 slots and 3kg! imagine your CPU cooler weighed 3kg!

I can't see a 240mm AIO being able to keep up with one of these.

 

If you were overheating a 3090 with a large water loop, the 3090 wasn't the issue. I have a 480mm and 560mm with fans running 500 RPM and max a 9-10ish delta-T using the 520w KPE bios on my Strix. It's also cooling a 5.3ghz 10900K. GPU never sees over 45C with a 21-23C ambient.

It's not the upper-mid 30's I used to get with a 1080 Ti, but it's far from "overheating"

 

I love my 3090 FE design, and 4090 FE is no worse.

No I think you misunderstood or i didnt explain properly the overheat was before I liquid cooled it since then its fine but my loop can still hit 38 after a hard session mine also cools my CPU a 5900x which is a golden sample hits 5.05 on 6+ cores and 4.95 on all cores with pbo

 

I´ve just checked and my case (Lancool 205 mesh) can house GPUs with a max lenght of 35cm, meaning that some 4090 simply can`t fit the case and the ones that fit are going to be almost glued to the case wall!...

I`m not going to buy a GPU like the 4090 but even if i had the money i would`t buy do the stupid size of the cards.

MSI made the right call with their WC version.

 

What kind of setup do you have? My water hits low 30's in worst-case conditions.
