microsoft is talking about windowed mode presentation (Presentation Optimizations).

This feature makes such games incompatible with Bltbit capture.

 

I'm actually playing a DX9 game atm that won't even work with Win11 so i'm still on Win10......

 

Will Direct X9 games be ever compatible on Windows 11? If anyone knows?

 

What?? I've played and finished multiple dx9 games on Win11.

 

I play borderlands 2 regularly on win11 (I switched to dxvk, but it still works in dx9). 1st F.E.A.R. also works.
DirectX 9 is not the issue. The only game that has issues with starting is sacred 2, but that game had issues even on win7, mostly because of nvidia physics...

 

Oups maybe I wrongly worded my sentence. I was refering to the post above mine with general DX9 compatibility in mind as I didn’t make the jump to W11 just yet.

Was asking about windows 11 and DX9 because we often replay good old games no matter what DX version it use.

I think that have much more games on my steam library that use others DX version than DX12 only.

 

Well the game i'm on about isn't even DX9.

It's an old classic The Simpsons Hit and Run which i thought i'd play as one it's free and two it's now got 4K support.

I'm using the Lucas Simpsons Hit & Run Mod Launcher which allows you to force DX9 and other stuff like higher res.

I saw people doing speed runs on Twitch and i remember loving the game so grabbed it and starting playing again.

I was told it doesn't work on Win11 but i have not personally tested it. It works perfectly on Win10 at high frame rates.

And yes i'm having fun playing it again.
