If you are seriously considering 4090 strix you'll have to get a new case. Yours looks pretty dated and that ODD bay restricts airflow. With 660W 4090 strix other components will cook inside as well. So you need serious airflow case. I recommend https://www.fractal-design.com/products/cases/torrent/torrent/black-tg-dark-tint/

He makes a really good point. DLSS 3.0 is gonna be a weird one indeed, the latency issue is going to crop up a lot and its going to confuse a lot of people.

Yeah, how about no... im gonna guess that you dont even know what case the cosmos 2 is.

And fun fact - i get lower temps on my 3090 strix than all the reviewers did.

Only thing that will need to be modded is removing the bottom of the 5.25" cage.

I see lots of comments about the memory interface and bandwidth,

keep in mind, by increasing the L2 cache nvidia has removed a bottleneck that was previously only been mitigated by substantially ramping up GDDR bandwidth, AMD did the same with RDNA.

Which bit amd in the arse at high res, and will with these "4080" cards aswell - them lowering the bus width and relying on the cache that is.

Holycrap just saw the new price list for Australia, $2959 AUD for a 4090 founders card. So that $4000 holding price was right for AIB cards.

And the 4080 16gig is $2300 for Founders.

$2500 was my limit but that was for an AIB 4090 card. Not paying $4000 for something that is only worth $2400.

I get 140-160 fps in Warzone at 4k with a 3090ti another extra 100 fps would be nice but not at $3000. haha

Nvidia really smoking the crack this time, mining is over, so they limiting how many they are selling to look like it will be "limited stock"

The scummy company, I will be watching the stocks of Nvidia fall over the next 6 months. :D

Indeed…the 4090 proffered specs seemed to be derived and marketed from carefully NVIDIA chosen games and applications. All said and done we will not know the real truth and only after dozens of independent reviews have been completed, then we as the readers having cut through what truth is being presented in the storefronts of the tech-channels and what actual buyers have to say who put their money where their mouth is on AMAZON. I also fully agree with your statement about the present OEM card-styling. I wonder though what Asus, Gigabyte or MSI will be charging for their so-called improved 4090 versions? It will propably be all about 3-fan cooling, styling, bling, overcclocking and a cool $1,900 for each seems quite realistic. Until then however I will sit back and hold my breath. I may very well wind-up snagging a 3090ti if that price hits below the $900 line? It will look like a bargain all things considered?

Rofl, wow 2% compared to their -55% I was expecting a 10% increase at least with the announcement and of course, they will go up when releasing a product that is what happens. It's when that product does not sell that crap slides downhill.

Just wait for it maybe we can look back on this post in 6 months and see who wins. :D Let's bet on it, you delete your account if I win and I will delete mine if you win.

Hell, the 3090ti looks like a bargain right now at $1079 USD. Wonder what it will go to on release of the 4090. You can get cheap second-hand ones for a good price as well.

I tried ATI back in 2009, and their drivers scared me good. I give it a shot again if their new cards cost much less than Nvidia's.

2009 was great. The HD 5870 2X the performance of a GTX280. Your right about the drivers tho... LOL back then.

Vertex fog broken on GCN (D3D9)
    Portal shadows broken RDNA
Shank 2 / MotN transparencies broken (RDNA)
    Video decoding green screens (RDNA2)
Removed cross-vendor OpenGL extensions used by retail games while making their own faster. (RDNA2)

AMD drivers are not better, they are perceivably worse, but probably equally as cluster^@&!ed.

If you're talking about the 4090, then the specs alone say this card will be fast.

I agree but by how much in real world games compared to the 3090Ti/6900xt. Considering the probably required upgrades needed elseware like new block and new PSU, how fast does it need to be to justify the fuckerage of upgrading the otherstuff.

Looks like it would be about 50% faster than a 3090Ti in traditional (nonDLSS/RT) games if the Nvidia slides are even remotely accurate.

I wouldn't have to upgrade anything to switch to it.

I actually think the 4090 is good purchase at that price. Performance uplift seems decent. Massive chip on a brand new node, price is justified. 4070/4080 on the other hand are abysmal. The 4070 looks like its barely faster than a 3090Ti.. in some cases slower. The 4080 is like crazy priced.. $1200 and it's at best 30-35% faster than my $700, 2 year old 3080 in Non-RT/DLSS titles. That's a terrible price to performance upgrade.
