This will make my next next gen upgrade a 5050 for my 3090 at a mere $1500 :D. I'm sitting on my 3090 this round so this should be interesting with the 5k(naming?) generation.

£949 for the vanilla 4070, can see custom AIBs like Rog Strix at £1200 pmsl.

Everyone's moaning about the prices. Isn't that part of the reason why EVGA is gone? The fact making graphics cards is a really expensive business and they didn't want to compromise on quality? It's not a profitable business compared to many other products.

Seriously, for some reason the xx80 and xx90 numbering keeps triggering people. Look at what you're getting instead. There's exponential processing power costs for ever diminishing returns. That's why DLSS exists, so we can get frame-rates that without it would take another 1-2 generations of products.

There was a time when the top-tier card was released last and then people would be moaning "oh, I'm going to wait for that one". Now you don't have to. It's right there on release day.

On top of that, they're making tools to pave the way for one day all games to be ray traced. It's really exciting! And if you're not excited then I think it's time to find another hobby, because PC gaming has never been cheap. Or get something like a Steam Deck and just play games rather than worrying about specs.

Agreed. The leap in performance seems sufficiently larger than the leap in price (if they were both equal increases, we would be disappointed, since this is a new generation, not just a new card).

I am hugely excited for DLSS 3.0, since it seems like 4K @ 120Hz will be pretty easy, and that's where things approach diminishing returns for me.

This is Guru3D, bro. Everybody here has built PCs, and is aiming for mainstream at the very least, budget permitting higher. It doesn't mean money would grow on trees for most of us, yet we would still love shiny new hardware, like we have loved for decades.

I hope that also DLSS2 will be added together with DLSS 3 in newer games.

And this the moment the EU Commission decided to move to Soviet style economy and dictate to ALL companies across the EU what they will manufacture.

My fear is that NVidia stops support for DLSS 2.x
If most games from now on would only support DLSS 3.0, that would kill Turing and Ampere's best feature.

DLSS 3.0 being exclusive to the 40 series really took the jam out of my doughnut.

    Bollocks!

€1100 to be precise the 12GB (aka 4070) and €1500 the 16GB. The 4090 is €2000 ($1100/$1500/$2000 for the Americans) in Germany with 19% VAT. In EU there are countries with 24% VAT so expect the price to be even higher.

And if you are lucky on a country that Nvidia sells in the EU. As it doesn't do so on all 27 member states.

It would be silly pricing a 4070 900$ so 4080 12gb sounds better, right? This is a huge disappointment and its getting out of hand. We'll get 4060 at 500$ next year.

Come on amd now its time to shine.

DLSS 3 is powered by the new fourth-generation Tensor Cores and Optical Flow Accelerator of the NVIDIA Ada Lovelace architecture, which powers GeForce RTX 40 Series graphics cards.

Then you need to solder some Tensor cores and Flow Acc to the 30 series :p

As semi retired, the price of the 4090 is the equivalent of 5 months living in mainland Greece including rent, energy bills and food.

2000 euro minimum here, I can see Suprim Xs and ROG Strix hitting 2500... yet, I'm actually more bothered by the DLSS3 exclusivity. Great tech and performance leap it seems, but with a lot of scummy moves.

Maybe DLSS 3.0 need more performance, so it's impossible or same as 2.0 on 30 series cards anyway?
DLSS 3.0 is faster because it uses WAY faster hardware

Wow 1500€ for a 4080 is beyond even my worst pessimistic predictions. (Not counting 12GB version as it's completely different specs - rebranded 4070)

nVidia bastards. I wonder how close the 4080 12GB is to the 3080 in terms of performance.
We need those numbers (no I don't buy that marketing crap, doesn't tell anything about the real world performance)
