There is nothing wrong with lowering GFX settings with that card, but with a new RTX4070..Well..

I have to agree. Im not lowering settings on a brand new mid-high end card and textures nonetheless.

What an abomination. Imagine that chunk of metal hanging off of your mb's pcie slot ... lol. They've really lost their minds pushing the TDP this much.

Why does 4080 12gb exists? That should be 4070. Nvidia shenanigans again.

Agreed, but they might want to change the naming scheme. In the past it might have been a "4070 TI".

Perhaps the 12GB one will be the 4080 GT. ;-)

Seriously, though, if these specs are being contemplated by Nvidia, the names of these SKUs may change, some may not be released at all or much later. Nvidia likes to change things up to the last second anyway.

And why is there such a huge difference between the 4080 and 4090?

Let's hope that it's more evenly spread out :)

Maxwell and Pascal also used the xx104 chip for its X080 series, so it's not a shocker at all. I guess Nvidia feels confident enough vis-a-vis its RDNA3 counterpart.

I've heard somewhere that it's because they can justify an even more exorbitant premium on top of the card, like literally, double the price (I guess)

3090 was more than double of 3080's msrp.
