Would like to enable it on my eGPU but have no way of doing it through a BIOS setting since everything is locked. Is there a way I can enable it on my RTX 3070? Thanks

I have it enabled for all apps and games, no issues, most games gain from 2 to 8 fps so why not.
And no there is no way to enable it besides in UEFI.

    Hold shift, click Restart.

Choose Advanced Options and select UEFI Setup. Forces the BIOS and enable re-sizebar.

But like everyone here except one has told you, the performance impact is neglegable if any.

That's the reason I kept mine off. The games I play saw hardly any benefit.

Plus higher vram usage, which would be a terrible trade off for gaining a possible 3-5 fps if you're close to the edge.

Yeah, that's not cool either, on my 8 GB budget, Rebar on Cyberpunk with RT enabled really pushed somethings to edge. I was experiencing abnormal framedrops... until I disabled Rebar (not completely, but from NV inspector)
It is actually reproducable and proveable that Rebar causes a higher VRAM usage. I'm not saying it's a bad thing but it is not cool when you're already at your limits, lol.

It can also cause issues for games to flush VRAM data more aggressively even with lots of available VRAM not allocated, leading to more slow-downs or low-res texture streaming. Happens in Fortnite, Watch Dogs Legion, apparently also Spiderman etc...

-> Turned it off in the bios, it's a joke in its current form.

Does this happen with officially whitelisted games? If not, then I see no reason to disable it at firmware level.

WD Legion is on the whitelist, yes. It might also affect streaming of skybox texture in Metro EE in Volga level, though I didn't double-check that. But the whitelist is not a guarantee for no issues.
There is zero noticeable performance gain in any game for me on Nvidia. Unlike the issues it can cause even in whitelisted game, so why bother. Plus the driver toggle doesn't work for Vulkan, rBAR is always enabled for all Vulkan apps...

Wow, I had no idea ReBAR was that poor. I've been using it for some time now but I'll be sure not to re-enable it after I've updated mobo BIOS which usually defaults everything.

Let's see if Nvidia will activate it in Uncharted and CoD, or if they go the same route as Spiderman. :D

Why can't you access bios? Is it locked with a password? Just open the PC case, remove the battery and reset the Bios using the proper switch/jumper.
