Microsoft pushing driver 512.15

Seems microsoft is pushing driver 512.15 on everyone https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/whrhzi/ysk_if_you_are_using_driver_version_51179_or/

Out of curiosity what is the most stable driver higher then 512.15 on Ampere cards?I used to sit on 472.12

 

516.94 is stable for me, but so were the previous ones.

You can easily enable/disable drivers pushed by WU via script windows_driver_update_toggle made by @AveYo

 

I have not had gpu driver push on me since 1706? builds of windows 10, disable driver inclusion, then i also installed 512.15 bout month back

 

Yea you already have it so w10 wont push it.
511.79 seems to be the cutting point from the thread I linked.

 

disable driver inclusion with windows update, as i have few other another pc that use older drivers that still on them. and have not had them force able updated

Make your internet connection as a metered one and you will not get neither automatic Windows Updates nor automatic driver updates.

 

That's a good idea but I think il just update.Been lurking around some more and it seems updating from 472.12 might not be such a bad idea.
By any chance do you have the link from the nvidia site for the downloadable to disable Ansel on dch drivers?I've seen it around occasionally but never bothered too bookmark it.

 

talking about the NVCameraConfiguration.exe to disable/enable it? that is sitting in my tools folder along other tools now, cause i have use each time install drivers now

At the bottom of the window, under NvCamera Status, select Disable.

Nvidia Profile Inspector is also capable of disabling Ansel system-wide by changing Enable Ansel in the global driver profile to 0x00000000 ANSEL_ENABLE_OFF.

As I take it tool is present on disk only in standard versions of drivers, not in DCH ones.

Upd.: I went to inspector and see there disabled Ansel (0x00000000 ANSEL_ENABLE_OFF) which I turned off earlier with the nvcamera configuration tool. So it should work in inspector too.

 

just went with what I read as i went from have standard drivers where that was even enabled to 512.15 dch one that had it enabled, and i remeber seeing people say it wasnt working inspector when i looking up how to disable it so i just got the tool, next i update the driver will try with inspector.

 

Are there any advantages to disabling Ansel? I don't actively use it, I don't have GFE installed, but the camera tool reported NvCamera enabled.

 

it had some overlay logo on all my game upon installing 512.15 which why got the tool and disabled it, as i didnt want the logo or overlay and i didnt have GFE installed either

at time i went from 466.11 to 512.15 i fiqured it was normal for new drivers
