14,000 rpm? I wouldn't want that thing anywhere near my PC. It would belong to my workshop, among the other power tools requiring hearing protection from the user.

Looks like a complete cock up product to me.
Lets face it, one heck of a lot of M2 slots will be underneath a gfx card in situ and a fink the clearance is just 6mm from the top of any pc-e slot to the belly of any card.

I have a 980 256 GB and it runs 43 Degrees tops with a simple heatsink added. I don't really understand where tne 90+ degrees come from.

14k rpm? That calls for a deathpenalty :D :p (I'm obviously not serious...just pointing it out in case it's not clear..)

No no, read the post carefully.. It's 10% of 14.000 rpm - thus 1.400 rpm.

Guess you need this if you have a 3090 dumping heat directly onto a very fast 4.0 NVME you are hammering.

Haha that would be an even worse place to put it - it'd suck up all the shop dust. That's why many industrial PCs are fanless.

This is really only suitable for a home server and nothing else. A legit server would have enough airflow where the SSD wouldn't need a fan.

Looks like it would work just as well with no fan, but no shroud around the heatsink. And with less energy and noise. I agree with you fellow gurus.

Well aparently PCI-E 5.0 m.2 nvme ssds are gonna be hot and it might be necessary to actively cool them if you want top notch performance. Also it is clearly written that it produces 24 dBA. With some manufacturer tomfoolery lets say its 28 dBA. Thats still quiet in comparison to most PCs out there.
Also if its really that loud just slap a noctua 20x20 fan on to it. They spin with 5k at ~15 dBA which is pretty much inaudible. I think the reactions are over the top. I like the look. It's clean af :D

This perfect. Its the 2nd slot on my board ironically, but works great with my 500GB 4.0 NVME.

This is the before. Ended up swapping out the board, cpu block, RM 1000x, added a vertical gpu mount, 2 360mm alphacool rads, XSPC white coolant, better loop drain, and 7 antec fans.

This is the finished one. No LEDS had been tweaked yet. I run a static blue.

I have no issues with it so far. Works on 4.0 like its supposed too.

Thank you. Been a lot of work lately to get it nice. Its actually done. Just was a photo from when i was putting together. I rarely see nice aoft tubing builds.

Ill post up pics and specs later today after work.
