Village got some elements\puzzles\moments taken from the wonderful - Clive Barker's Undying. some moments were almost similar meaning someone in the developing team is familiar with Undying.. and i loved it.

both RE7 and Village are very strong games. loved both.

Just picked this up in the Steam sale, havn't got a clue about some of the gfx settings, just whacked em all up/on, memory usage went way into the Red, and the image quality setting, i could only go up to 1.6, any higher was a flippin slideshow, went to about 2fps. :D

Also, i noticed i couldn't turn the volume up with my kb, had the bugger maxed @ 10, but it was still to low, so had to quit back to my desktop to turn it up, then restart it, come on, wtf is that all about! :p

Will give it a proper look at the weekend, only just started it to get a feel, so was just walking about with the baby.

Exceeding VRAM budget will trigger constant memory flushes which will absolutely destroy your framerate, essentially a 2070 cannot really handle more than 500MB texture buffer (IIRC) with RT on at 1080p with everything else maxed out

Just been having a tinker, and managed to get it maxed, everything on, but with the Image Quality at 1, and the Textures on High (3GB), that keeps it under the VRAM limit.

Will start playing it over the weekend.

Played on RTX 3080 and I remember it did not run very good at times.I might try it on RTX3090/RX6950XT to see if it runs better today after all the patches.Looking at old youtube videos of mine, I was getting average 90 FPS at 4K max so I may just be misremembering how it played for me. Resident evil 7 that you can get on the steam sale was fun,so might be a good choice to grab the bundle for those who did not play either game.

Capcom solved that after the backslash with the DRM stutter.

and it didn't actually run better, she just removed key frames to skip the effects of the drm.

Never had any stutter with my 3080 even on release day when the game came out.

The retail version did have some minor stutters due to DRM but they fixed it via a patch.

Yep, and I found it funny... so many were claiming the stutter/hitch was Denuvo.

When, in fact, it was caused the Capcom's own software poorly interacting with Denuvo that caused it. :D

Picking up on some big time BOTW references /influences in this game, devs were obviously fans of that masterpiece.
I'm in a boss battle with Lady D, hope that's not the last i'll see of the good lady.

if you can avoid updating then do so, update has broken the game.
