Seriously, as long as people continue to pour money at this game, despite it being a pre-alpha product, what incentive does the devs have to actually ever finish the game? They get showered with money regardless. And for that reason, i dont see this game ever getting fully finished.

 

the incentive of CR and players are not endless sponges, there is progress definite and more than ever currently.

 

11 years of snail pace progress. The gameplay is boring too. I want to love it I really do, but it's lacklustre. I've got a HOTAS, with peddles and Track iR. It's hit and miss if Track iR works. Which it does perfectly in Arma 3, Reforger and Elite Dangerous.

 

Idk seems like a problem with your setup. I've only used the webcam option and it worked okay but I've watched streams where people used IR for hours and it's fine.

Kind of crazy how much funding they are getting this year -- most people thought COVID caused an anomaly for 2020/21 but this year is clearly going even further. If they can actually get server meshing in for 3.18 by Q4/Q1 next year will probably even more insane.

I also logged several hours in 3.17.2 PTU yesterday and I think this patch is going to be really solid to hold over for 3.18. Performance is much better for me especially with AI combat which makes me more interested in doing those kinds of missions.

 

it just occurred to me to check, but star citizen has not had any news about the battlecruiser class vessels yet, despite being an achieved stretch goal.

such a vessel should be 80+% the size of the Bengal.

I've also heard that the Retribution is probably salvageable.

The more videos I watch the more it feels like a life simulator.

 

Life simulator is exactly what it is. The player community will determine what loops will be actively pursued from rescue, the Apollo, to salvage, mining, and refueling. 4.0, Pyro is what I am waiting for. AI missions are funny. Is great to see how dramatic NPCs are at dying. Even darting to the spot from where they were killed to where the server wants them to be. Is great to see that using silencers does not attract as much attention from the AI as when not using one. They still need work on the AI for not reacting to seeing dead bodies all over the place. Come on now, business as usual? walking around like nothing out of the ordinary. Plus the AI look at your character too long before deciding to fire. Is frustrating to have to wake up in Grim Hex because a dang guard decided it was best to run into your line-of-fire to just stand there staring at the enemy, acting like a meat shield. Thankfully rep is staying after this wipe.

They are resetting everything but rep

 

I had one for two years, sold it a while ago before it became flyable.

 

Like Denial said, only the items pledged and rep are staying. Everything else is getting wiped. Have only had an M2 for like 3 weeks. Originally wanted an A2 but the kiosk monitor in Orison is bugged. Hopefully when 17.2 drops that monitor will be fixed. I am going to be stuck in my pos Mustang again . Should have bought the Pisces. May just upgrade to it.
