it doesn't even look like the connector has any traces

So this is as far as they will get, a non functioning display model?

Can we write off Intel now from the future of dedicated GPU's?

No idea if it's a working model or not but the connector has plastic caps on and you can still just about make out the contacts. It's also no longer than any triple fan cooler. Just goes to show how easily some wish to express their negativity.

    I feel the same.

So much time and this is all they have to show? Pathetic.

I feel most ppl were pretty positive when the whole ARC saga started.
Also I dont feel its all that negative now, more like bored.

Obviously not enough chanting over at Intel.

All praise the edd and flow,

    All feel the nimbus rising,

    All sing the body electric,

    Feel the full charge crackle!

Invest this device with Your holy charge.

I guess it's just meant to make it look fast.
"Surely it must have good performance if it needs to be that big!" some might say. Makes me wonder why they didn't cover it in RGB LEDs, since that's basically the PC equivalent of fire decals or red paint to make it go faster.

At least we'll know it should run cool and quiet.

no it goes to show that contacts are hard to see with a platic cap on
an d plastic cap is hard to see if it's transparent in a low quality picture

If Intel isn't talking about what it plans to ship in six months or a year, or what it intends to build with a FAB five years out, then it is displaying mockups of GPUs it plans to sell someday.

Intel already got everything, they just need to capitalize on it. Looks like intel is lining up release with Star Citizen, they just need to start selling these props for thousands and keep delaying actual cards while making money on props indefinitely.

Intel have an exclusivity deal to launch Arc with Half Life 3, the delays are all Valve's fault...

well... this is my addition to the parade of YAWN

even (or especially) given this was a fanboy stroke-fest :)p) that Intel was presenting to one might think that actual hardware in a room of hardware geeks would be a necessity.

but no we get a bad prop (that looked like a CES deal) with bad spec and high power consumption.

i've been in the spot Intel is in when another division has blown deadlines but marketing says full steam ahead... it's not either fun or pretty.

imho, some freshly minted MBA in marketing with no industry experience is responsible.
at this late date Intel is poorly served by showing vaporware. i know it's a bad habit of theirs and i really like Intel engineers so i blame marketing. and by "really like" i mean in the personal sense, not just their work product.

Jeez, guys, why all the hate? When intel says they're gonna release a graphics card, they release it! Oh, uhh...
