It does have a section in Drive Details that has the drives firmware listed and then tells you if it's the Latest version.
yes but i found this not to be correct at time's as when looking for my firmware on the samsung site it would list the firmware's date and version which was more recent than what magicain was showing me.
It pizzes me off that the only Performance option I have for my 960 EVO is Enable Trim. What`s up with that? It seems every other drive allows like 4 or 5 other Modes. And all i get is Trim???? aarrgghh cannot use Rapid Mode either. No option for it.
Yes. I do now see that Rapid Mode is not supported for the EVO 960. But surely Trim can`t be the only Performance Optimization.
Samsung disabled S.M.A.R.T for their OEM drives.... Might as well trash Magician and just use Crystal Disk Info instead
Magician is trash tbh, it can't even see disks that don't have a drive letter, hence no ability to see disks in a storage spaces raid
Eh? Not quite sure what you try to imply. The PM9A1 is a Samsung drive, basically the OEM version of the 980 Pro. And still kinda hillarious that their own software leaves out the S.M.A.R.T info just because it is labeled as OEM.
Software-update: Samsung Magician 7.0.1 New Features in the pdf file. https://semiconductor.samsung.com/r...ng_Magician_7_0_1_Installation_Guide_v1.1.pdf https://semiconductor.samsung.com/consumer-storage/support/tools/
> Magician shows only volumes mounted with letter. They need to remove this limitation, anything else can display the stats of a connected samsung drive, but the moment you put them into storage space raid magician doesn't know they exist.
I tried installing 7.1 twice and had to revert to 7.0.1. Apparently 7.1 didn't work for other people either.
I installed it without problems. The issue I had with 7.1 is that it would install and run just fine. However the next time the computer was rebooted Magician wouldn't load or start. I was not willing to do a fresh install of Magician each time I turned on the computer.
