Why do you use 4800c40 on the Intel system?
It's like running 2133mhz on Ryzen....

Despite the 3D cache being incomple technology, these results are quite impressive if the same happens in a lot of games.

    That's a very impressive result.
This 5800X3d is looking very promising for gaming.

Looks good, very good. Although we still need more tests before taking any conclusions.

But i will continue to wait for their next gen.

Considering you're on a 5600X, I'd save up my nerd gold and wait for Zen 4 if you're okay with being mugged by the DDR5 prices. Or do you actually run into some CPU bottlenecks with your Radeon 6800?

No CPU bottlenecks yet . Just for future proofing , i have no plans going to AM5 anytime soon , i plan on keeping this platform for few years. it has PCIE4.0 and can support 8-12 core CPU , why would i upgrade :D

    to be sure.
however, the reality is that the 5800X3D has been placed as a profit center to defray the costs of the new fab and more importantly Genoa 3D.

AMD knows that this kind of extreme performance at a "reasonable" price is catnip to the gaming community - and that's why no iGPU. they took their most popular gaming cpu and "turbocharged" it.

it's a halo effect at a low cost with knock-on benefits for AM5

    hehehe;)
not to mention 7xxx3D...which will be a later release, but it's coming. no way AMD is going to waste fab time (as only client).

but, there's a good chance that despite the new uArch the 5800X3D may be neck and neck with Ryzen 4 NON-3D in gaming (not applications)

Yea damn it. Loved the IQ of 3440x1440.
But at least ill have a fallback on a pretty kick ass monitor.

Watched a video of the 5600x vs 5700x. Holy damn the 5600x still holds up well. Guess ill just wait till the end of this year if that's qhen AM5 launches. I see no point in me going to 12th gen intel currently. Which is a very nice product finally in a while.

I would say keep the 5600x until it is really a bottleneck I would imagine is going to be over 2 years ! But even if it last you for your needs only 2 years in 2 years ddr5 will be cheaper and faster .... Most likely we will be waiting zen 8xxx or it will be out same with Intel 13xxx and 14xxx . And even if the 5800x3d makes sense for gaming still it will be cheaper than what it will come now ...... So as things are you will pay more to day to get same or worse performance in the future and future proof now ! I would say keep enjoying the 5600x !

it looks like once you get something decent, like 11400f, the performance increases are very incremental.
that is why imo it's best just to get the cheapest modern 6 core there is,or cheapest 8 core there is.Invest into some really good ram so you can have extra few percent without extra power/heat and call it a day.

I just read how he was testing in the screenshot, they are not even testing with the same GPU but it is there test.In one game so far AMD has more Avg FPS.
This is where I look at my 12900K 5400Mhz all core overclock in shame and wished I had a AMD5800X3D

1280 x 720 Shadow of the Tomb Raider (Custom settings – Low)

    AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D + 3080Ti 231 Avg FPS

    Intel Core i9-12900KS + 3090Ti 200 Avg FPS

    Intel Core i9-12900K/KF + 3090Ti 190 Avg FPS
