DCH and Standard are and have always been the same driver just packaged in a more uniform way

I do not understand your calmness while the biggest problem ever is not proved to be solved - the notorious registry activity with GSync/FreeSync monitors. Is it solved as they claim or not?

TV came up as visual snow (like hdcp failed), fine after power cycle.

the entire avr chain is honestly old and the tv is dying anyway, time to go 4k and put a 4080 in there ;D

If you have another one (4080) just gimmegimmegimme ;-)

Drivers seem okay and hopefully everyone is happy now.

One could always be happier. That DWM logging issue was completely irrelevant vs. real issues like stutter in Metro Exodus or weird MPO stutter issues with fullscreen video in mpv/madVR (at least the latter still isn't fixed and Metro likely either).

driver performance seems the same, not seeing a drop in comparative performance (496, 497,509, 511) Stability seems the same, fine.

However, I do have the lingering 2d desktop polygon issue on several machines, this seems unsolved since 496. I still have the hdmi delay flicker and dp 1.4dsc delay. I keep hoping it gets fixed. Reluctantly reverted back to 472.84 standard.

I found on other forums that the common theme for the issue is using 3090 rtx, 10-bit color, 4k, and hdmi 2.1 or dp 1.4dsc. Tickets have been submitted all along. Does not seem to affect all users, but it seems to occur. Another theme is that it (polygons on 2d desktop) seems to occur for the first few reboots and then goes away and only periodically coming back. again, not sure how that manifest. The hdmi 2.1 inconsistent behavior does not resolve itself. I honestly only did two reboots, saw the issue still there and ddu back to 472.84. So something is inherently different for hdmi 2.1 / dp 1.4 dsc between the 472 standard series drivers and the 496-512 drivers (that's when the behavior showed up)

Maybe they will address it in future drivers.

More often than not in situations like this, the developer is just reverting a non-issue people didn't like for... reasons. Right now, you and your idiot brigade here are patting yourselves on the back for nothing. Show me the issue, and Ill delete this comment.

And no, slightly increased DMW usage is not an issue inherently.

Installed, guess i'll find out soon enough if this is as smooth (micro-stutter free) as 472.84.

Is it proved by gurus? I can read too, you know.
So many gurus were shouting about that increased registry reads, so I am asking again was this huge problem actually solved?

it wasn't a huge problem, might have impacted synthetic benchmarks a smidge but gaming was not affected.
