AMD is expected to respin up to three new desktop graphics cards on April 20th or 21st, according to Chiphell leaker Enthusiastic Citizen - the 6950XT, the 6750XT, and the 6650XT.... AMD Radeon RX 6950XT, 6750XT, 6650XT RDNA2 with 18Gbps memory in April
Uh... I just want something like 6800 at reasonable price, ideally a tad less than RRP with 4K60FPS RTRT, but while good for AMD, I feel there is next to no chance until 2024 to get a GPU without selling someone else's organs...
Yeah same here. Unfortunately, since the world insists on being crazy I fear prices will only start to rise once again as product gets even more scarce.
don't think the faster VRAM will make much of a difference, Infinity Cache was carrying most of the bandwidth burden anyhoo. Even in the case of the 3070 vs 3070 Ti there's not much difference in most games except maybe at 4K
Agreed. My 6900XT ram is overclocked from 16.0 to 16.8GT and the differences were miniscule, a few percentage points at best. Moreover, using the utility More Power Tool (MPT) even reference AMD card owners can bump up the card TDP to 350 with the stock cooler. More if using a liquid cooler. Would seem more of MSRP adjustment than an actual refresh to me. At least you'd possibly get a better binned/newer spin GPU (perhaps!)
Yeah... the 6000 series prices are insane here. 10.000 DKK for 6800 XT, and I paid 3500 DKK for my 5700 XT when it was new! You can find 3080s around 5800-6000 DKK, though most tend to be upwards of the 10k mark as well. Which is still absurd - that used to be what a whole PC cost.
The market seems to be quite strange at the moment. There are plenty of cards available, in stock in stores, but the prices are really high. This means they aren't useful to miners anymore, but gamers don't want to pay the inflated prices either. However, if the prices were lowered, I imagine miners would immediately snatch all of them. So, the prices stay high and the cards move very slowly. I'd guess the war is very good for miners because no politicians currently would pay attention to the crypto problem, instead of the armed conflict.
right now a waterblocked 6900xt (in US) is over a thousand dollars less than a 3090 and 4-500 less than a 3080 regional prices are still way out of whack even given supply chains. imho, the problem is the gray market where non-AMD/Nvidia registered businesses have paid a higher cost than MSRP, but still want a profit. when you only have brick and mortar dealers it's a lot easier to keep a handle on these things and to mete out punishments for unsponsored selling (like voiding warranties - the standard remedy) even up to and including law suits. whereas we all know the internet is the "wild, wild, west" of retail.
Half tempted to get a 6950XT eventhough I have a 6800XT. I only paid $300+ 5700XT+5700XT water block +$150 for 6800XT. And i only paid $389 for 5700xt. LOL. So really not in bad with my current GPU. Well that would be the case if 6800xt/6900xt were not slower in higher resolutions. I welcome the memory bump in speed and will need it myself.
Cool, but not that much faster with seemingly high jump in power consumption on the best model, which is likely due to higher clocks. Good if they are immediately placed at the MSRPs of the current models. EDIT. sorry was hasty
