all you have to do is buy and point directly with in about 1 meter distance or less in your case a 18k btu air-condition unit and you will be fine :p

isn't more big navi dies on the same chip the same thing ? just cramming as much rdna/lovelace shaders on a die as possible.same thing to me.one does it by connecting multiple dies with the same amount of shaders as last gen,the other increases the size and cuda core count on a monolithic die.same as 1800x vs 9900k or 1950x vs 7960x

what if two cut down shrunk 6800s dies w. 3800su each are better than a single one from nvidia ?
better is better in my book, who cares if it's mcm or monolithic.I'll tell you who - fanboys primarily.

they're both supersizing the rtx30/rdna2 cards this time, just in two different ways with the same outcome.
it will always come down to availability and pricing in the end.judging which way is better at this point is just spreading fake news.though a lot of people here enjoy to do that more than anything.

Last time Nvidia put Maxwell on steroids, AMD had no answer to for 3.5 years ;)

If this keeps escalating like that soon the EU will take action and either apply an efficiency target or a power limit to lower power consumption on the long run.

I have always aimed for high-end, but now with my AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT which consumes up to 256W under full load (not sure why not more, probably it's software limited) I am able to play any modern title in 4K resolution. No way that I will buy one of those monsters with 3x higher TDP...

6900XT uses 300-320W at stock, AMD software reading does not take into account VRM power loss.

Best way to measure GPU power consumption is Nvidia PCAT (measure from PCIe power cables and PCIe slot), which guru3D uses

When a 1000w PSU isn't enough for a single card system. lol

With energy prices the way they are i doubt even miners would want this card.

Plus with war in Europe energy prices will sky rocket.

...and here i was thinking that 300w+ was bad enough, looks like im done with buying the x80 cards then,
i always bought x80 cards as that was the perfect spot for my gaming needs, 480, 580, 780, 980 and now current 2080 but if there going down this current path of much higher tdp then its either give up gaming for a bit or look at the 4070 or even the 4060, as long as its better than the 2080 id be happy

I just tjeck the date. Hmm nope it's not April fools day yet.

750-800 watt, are you kidding meo_O and this is just the reference spec. Imagine the oc variations then. My EVGA rtx 3080 FTW 3 ultra gaming can all ready consume up to 400 watt.

No way in he'll i want a 800 watt+ space heater in my pc.

That card will probably be the first to reach the $5,000 mark on resell sites (regardless of what 'MSRP' may be at the moment of release).
