If you want to play games such as God Of War, you are gonna need the new drivers regardless for game stability. The 497.29 ones are quite stable and smooth, way lower ram and vram usage than the 511 branch ones, so you could try them and see, they are working quite well for me.

that has nothing to do with the display driver, its normal dwm behavior.

True and this is what I meant by writing also seen on 497.29 including the Hint that this can be seen everytime you move the mouse.

But this is the Answer to your "didn't see this being spammed".

My english is rusty. So sometimes I can't make myself clear on the first attempt. Sorry for that :(

On mine system the performance counter double with those 511 attached on DWM.
Below about the difference (2015 hardware) without changes on anything else except the GPU driver version.

Lost Ark has support for the South Korean version (December 2019) from 460.79 driver onwards IIRC.

    511.xx profile follows:
    Code:
    Profile "Lost Ark"
        ShowOn GeForce
        ProfileType Application
        Executable "lostark.exe"
        Setting ID_0x1033cec1 = 0x00000001
        Setting ID_0x1033dcd2 = 0x00000001
        Setting ID_0x105e2a1d = 0x00000004
        Setting ID_0x106d5cff = 0x00000000
        Setting ID_0x1095def8 = 0x00000004
        Setting ID_0x10f9dc81 = 0x00000011
        Setting ID_0x80857a28 = 0x00000001
    EndProfile
Unsure if the Western ( European and North American ) release requires updated profile. Other regions such as the Russian and Japanese BETAs didn't require a profile update so existing profile should be 'good to go'.

    EDIT: CODE tags for profile

To be sure that registry requests go to actual registry file on the disk you have to include disk activity in ProcMon (along with registry one).
I mean registry operations can be cached actually.
Also read registry requests can`t hurt SSD lifespan.

I mean okay? A 2015 CPU is a 7 years old CPU and it wasn't top of the line back in 2015 either. I've done two platform upgrades since that time and I'm not the one who do them often. How does this manifest itself outside of this benchmark?

So... any news on NIS performance improvements in some future drivers?

Not a main system but still capable to deliver VM task for me if needed and supervised gaming for kids around 1080p/60FPS.
Actually on D3D the performance on the GPU side is about the same, percentile on CPU time is lower by few point and effectively slower on desktop task like the system is having a actual unwanted program grinding on it, driver discrepancy is summed within the CPUz score.

and other cpu benchmarks lose performance too?

Because I saw this too, at initial windows start the performance is ok, but after idk 5-10min it drops a bit, cinebench, 3dmark physics, etc,

CPU-Z benchmark variation can be quite large (multi core moreso than single-core), but the picture definitely points to something else as the culprit.

The CPU performance loss is system wide and permanent with those driver installed. There could be some dips up and big trash down, yet it's not related to any WMI process or services outside the OS.
The double counter on XPERF come out after nvwgf2umx_cfg or it's spawn since that something else is reported as N/A +0,001000 ms time over.
Other monitoring tool surely stack adding more polling software give significant reduction on CPU time and it's availability, as usual, but I'm literally counting double SUM after DWM with such 511 driver, other benchmark on CPU are probably affected.
