Even if it was faster, I wont move to it in its current state of annoyances. Since these 'annoyances' are mostly by design, will have to keep an eye out for 3rd party solutions to them. Am prepared to hang onto W10 till 2025.

OK, got taskbar functionality back with explorer patcher:
    https://github.com/valinet/ExplorerPatcher

Dont like the start menu alternatives out there, so will live with the native one. Looks like I may move to 11 as main OS. I like how switching and exiting from different resolutions in games doesnt mess up my window positions or icons. Overall feels snappier than 10.

I like how easy Microsoft has made it to go back to Windows 10 after installing 11....it really is the best feature of Windows 11.

This will bring back "combine taskbar buttons when full"?

So, gave it a go, still a load of annoying quirks, went back to Win10 :(

Ideally, doesnt have to be an either W11 or W10 choice, but inclusive of both. You can install it on a separate drive or partition and dual boot. When you get annoyed with 11, its just a reboot away from 10. But you will have the urge to go back to 11 to fiddle with it occasionally. I installed it last October and it was only within last couple weeks I accepted it. And 10 is always there as a backup system to fall back on.

Guys after trial of win 11 pro on my system, i can confirm performance loss on games, especially cs go, i lost 100fps on average, game starts to drop fps suddenly into 150s, reinstalled win 10 pro 21h2 and everything went back to normal, averaging 240 fps on cs go with no sudden drops whatsoever, better wait guys at least a year until this OS is compatible with everything, right now it s a no go

Are you sure that applies to everyone? And not just you with your particular system, GPU, specs? Havent gamed much on 11, but AC Odyssey, Days Gone, Supcom FA run fine with no perf loss whatsoever.

I think some games perform worse and others don't. I didn't really experience a performance loss on the non-vr games that I play but vr games played so much worse on windows 11 that it'll be a while before I ever go back to it.

Windows 11 is is no different from 10 in regards to API's and stuff. Only differences is in the UI.

Sorry but i had performance drop on cs go, and the reason i had this is because of the OS, that s the only explanation

A performance drop can be the result of any application installed on your PC.

I have the same bare minimum stuff, btw win 10 pro now, and win 11 pro, there was noticeable 100 fps drop in cs go on thr same settings , so this means it s the OS which is still not compatible with all games, even warzone is much smoother on win 10 compared to win 11, with a more consistent fps and smoothness

Windows 10/11 Home is(are) a broken mess. Probably designed that way.

My games are running just fine on Win 11. You can wait a year, I don't have to.

Im not gonna even bother for now with win 11 after suffering such fps loss for no reason, sticking with win 10 until win 11 is compatible with anything thrown at it
