It gets better on New Game+. Gear and cosmetics you couldn't obtain on the first playthrough but they're real savages on Give Me God of War difficulty for New Game+. It's very replayable and the challenges get harder as they scale on a New Game+. I'd say 2 - 3 playthroughs will get you to a good place for the end game content.
Proton Experimental pulls in newer DXVK to help God of War on Linux | GamingOnLinux I'm assuming he means this. Which means Steam Deck will run this game as well. Apparently, to use it in Windows (instructions from Youtuber Felix Ribeiro ; - Download the last release from their GitHub page (google dxvk github); - Extract the compressed file; - Open the x64 folder; - Copy the files d3d11.dll and dxgi.dll to the game .exe folder; - Run the game. I've never tested this before so proceed with restrained expectations please. Unfortunately, I haven't found the exact page yet. Edit: Source for those files https://github.com/Sporif/dxvk-async/releases/tag/1.9.3 Thanks Kanenas!
Flawless widescreen includes a FOV slider for this game now https://www.flawlesswidescreen.org/ It also disables the DoF when you increase the FOV.
I tried DLSS quality with max settings and it is very impressive. I tried Fidelity FX and it looks great too. The rocks on the cliffs and mountains that you climb are so detailed. I truly like the fact that this game is scalable with a good implementation of performance tools. I went back to native res and I'm just going to continue to play there. Fellow techies in arms I gotta get some sleep. I have to work in about 6 hours. Have fun Dudes and Dudettes.
Turned it off and lost kinda 10fps, DLSS performance didn't do much compared to Quality tbh so i think DLDSR is doing it's job and DLSS helps even more here's a video
Have you tried using the legacy DSR instead of the DLDSR? Because from my testing there is no gain in performance or visual between the 2. I still need to understand why Nvidia released those fake screenshots of Prey.
Just tested that, performance gain in hardly noticeable but DSR looks sharper, i used 3% smoothness on both modes in NVCP used same res. scaling i used in the video above and maxed out graphics DLSS off DLSS quality
Agree. Tested DLDSR also with Days Gone ad HZD (starting from native 1440p) with a 3080, and I have 30fps less when on.
Yes in gow you have a good improvement in sharpness using dldsr but this does not happen in all games. The gain in performance is almost zero. Where did that supposed +35fps difference go?
DLDSR is faster only because it's 2.25x instead of 4x. People think it's some kind of magic and it's faster at the same render resolution which is false. This means that DSR 2.25x and DLDSR 2.25x perform exactly the same. NVIDIA only said that DLDSR 2.25x is as good as DSR 4x in terms of IQ and you get more performance because it's 2.25x instead of 4x. No magic here.
Thing is though... it isn't as good IQ. 4k 2.25x DLDSR and DLSS quality mode (ps. open in new tab to really see images) Spoiler 4k 4.00 DSR and DLSS ultra performance mode Spoiler The latter has slightly better performance AND noticably more defined texture details.
