I just tested both in fear 1 and regular dsr performs better. dldsr averaged 281 fps and regular dsr averaged 327. lol wtf. Also seems dldsr locks to 60hz in game even though it says 144hz at the desktop.

So this new DSR mode , how do I know ingame, does it add extra HD at end? Also why is 120HZ max while normal DSR 144HZ?

ManuelG could you please bring back classic sharpening in control panel? the new image scaling turn the game like cartooning.

Your choice, its a pretty pointless question. The benefits are in post #1.
Roll back to the previous restore point if you dont like.

Not compatible with every game, right now. The people over on r/Nvidia (link to it) are building a list based on what people report and it's not that long, right now.

EDIT 2: Scratch the previous edit; some of the info must've been related to Stereoscopy and my ProfileInspector was just ancient.

I have the same issue on RTX 2060. I got crashed with a high freq hum and once my pc shut down, it took almost 30 mins to get my pc on. Sadly I had to clear my cmos and unplug my pc. It was a clean install using DDU. I rolled back to 497.29. Im on latest WIn 10 updates, all my drivers are all up to date.

Looks like those getting a performance gain with DLDSR have 1080p as their native res. While those who use 1440p and above monitors are experiencing a performance hit with it.

Only using these to play God Of War, but what in the hell is nvidia doing? Sharpening now is glued with resolution scaler (NIS) which lowers performance a bit at native resolution, they didn't bother changing this since the 490.XX driver branch and also is way worse than the old sharpening system. Who makes these sort of changes for no apparent reason? Is like they don't even listen to the players, man, I may downgrade the driver now and test GoW, if it runs the same and I have no issues, i'll keep it that way.

This isnt right. It says "DL" right after the multiplier, like "2.25x DL" it doesnt look like yours is working.

Ok. Then tell me how it works. I never bothered with DSR before this.

I have 1440p as my native res. When I enable DLDSR and use 1.78x DL in-game, I get a significant performance hit on my fps.

NVidia, please fix NIS performance hit on games that don't actually use it, and also make it optional so we can use old GPU scaling and sharpen without NIS.

My screen is an Acer GD245HQ that can handle 120Hz over DVI-D and 110Hz over HDMI (good quality wire here)
Cannot run it at even 75Hz
First driver with such issue for many years...

Tested with Days Gone; flagging the two options, once in game I see the higher resolutions (which were not there before). I tried the 1.78x the difference is very noticeable, but ... l

... performance in fps too. If at @ 1440p it was around 120 / 130fps with DLDSR 1.78x it drops to 80/90 which for charity is absolutely more than fluid but it doesn't seem to me what Nvidia advertises.

How to enable "Image Sharpening" slider in Prey? In NVCPL NIS is turned ON, but I can't see it in GFE overlay. In RE8 it works.
