Yeah the vram clock is still stuck for me with multiple displays. Eh, bug report sent so next driver maybe can finally fix it for all.

Still having this issue since 22.x.x drivers  Explorer keeps restarting when opening Edge and Taskbar is unresponsive. Looks like back to 21.10.2 drivers. Screenshot 2022-01-13 012521.png

I really hope they fix this before or for 22.1.3. Completely game-breaking.

Yup its still there for me too.

    1080p 60Hz and 1440p 144Hz

As soon as I change the one monitor from 144Hz to 120Hz the memory clocks shoot down to 192MHz and they idle properly.

Yeah, that's what it does to my computer and Firefox when coming out of sleep mode.

    Just a heads up.

DDU (safe mode), install, no go. Crash at GEARS5 after 5-10' playing, twice.
Install using installers reset option, works fine.

After all these years they fixed the damn VRAM bug, they said. I had tears in my eyes and almost cried.

    Unfortunately its not fixed.

Are these results correct with this new driver?
    https://www.computerbase.de/2022-01/god-of-war-benchmark-test/3/

If so why is a 6900xt behind a 3080 in this game? It appears to be something artificially limiting the performance of the 5000 and 6000 series GPUs.
The 5700xt is much slower then a 2070 Super
The 6800xt is much slower then a 3080
Yet, the 6900xt is much slower then a 3080

Something is not right with those results.

What were you expecting? It's an Nvidia game

Just because it is a competitor title doesn't mean that they should be hobbling performance on AMD GPUs. I was expecting differences because they perferred their hardware not sabotage/reduce amd gpu performance. That's going the extra mile. And takes it out the realm of "competitor sponsored title".

Lies, All lies. I have 2 identical Freesync monitors at 100Hz max, both are set at native 1440p resolution and refresh and there is no idle memory clocks. Still running at full clock speed as before. Did anyone validate the (outsourced) driver team's work prior to release?

Definitely fixed for me with this driver and my multi monitor setup.

    Primary Acer Predator x34 120hz and a bog standard BENQ 27' 1080p @ 60hz as secondary.

I have a funny feeling they might need to white list the monitors perhaps in drivers? That's why we're seeing some setups fine and others not? Perhaps submit a bug report to AMD like I did.

Also after March 2021 to make sure the drivers can perform correctly, max clock will be set as the drivers can't know the exact vertical blank settings of every random monitor and setup out there.
You can try tweaking this in CRU as per this video from Ancient or use custom resolution in Display settings.

Edit: Also here with @The Creator and guys trying various settings lol

It's not hobbling anything. AMD is losing to Nvidia cards because they specifically optimized for Nvidia. You find the same thing in AMD titles like Borderlands 3

i looked at the charts in your links. Losing by 5-10fps isn't hobbled. That's optimization catering for the specific sponsor GPU

Stop being specious and defensive. I indicated specific scenario. You have a 6900xt showing performance in the 3070ti territory. This is what you call hobbled.

The FSR implementation is looking pretty great as I look at videos and screen shots. Just a little soft, but easily resolved with RIS.

By its nature FSR supposed to work well. That has nothing to do in showing any level of consideration for AMD. Be that as it may I'm referring to the performance Delta. A 6900xt is in a higher tier bracket than a 3070 TI. Therefore the performance in this game should reflect that. And it does not. It takes a lot of hobbling to lower a top-tier card to a mid-range result.

Running this on my Asus Strix G15 G513QY Advantage Edition with 6800m and it has been one of the best drivers so far. Been playing lots of Anno 1800 and AoE IV with zero issues and silky smooth game play. It doesn't happen very often but it looks like AMD made an acceptable driver for my laptop finally.
