AMD unveiled the Radeon RX 6500 XT on Tuesday, with a suggested retail price of US $199. Clearly, given the present shortage scenario, introducing a graphics card for US $ 199 is not an easy effort....

X4 as many NVidia on the same segment (despite physical X16... NVidia even use X1 sometime) and only X8 in a lot of middle segment too in both red and green...
It's not a problem in itself if it fit the needed bandwith :)

4.0 x4 might be fine, but I wonder if 3.0 x4 is still fine, as quite a bunch of systems are not on 4.0 yet.

We know that PCIe 4.0 x4 is a bottleneck in CS:GO:

But in this test, it's the cpu that has this limitation. 6500XT has limitation on GPU side. I wonder if that also will be a bottleneck.
AMD is guilty until proven otherwise ;)

Based on the specs, that card indeed should cost no more than roughly 199 euros, even under the current circumstances. 64 bits bus? That's just hilarious.

I suppose the card will, though, end up in the so called gaming PCs sold by small, third party sellers on Ebay and other Internet marketplaces.

If the pricing was normal the 3050 nullifies the reason for existence that this card has. It will still sell just because it's terrible and it might be possible to find it.

300 euro rumored actual price. Yay.

It'll be interesting to see how the performance stacks up. It should be better than a RX480/GTX 1060 in order to make sense. Considering its target is the 1650, though, and that sits at like 30% less than a 480/1060... I guess it's just another bump in price - even if it costs 199$ or €, AND manages to match those two cards in performance per their "it's this much faster than a 1650" slide.

Since none of those two are met, we'll just have to pay 50% more than what those cards launched for 5 years ago and get slightly worse performance.

The most questionable thing is that it will cost 19$ more than my old RX 580X OC limited edition from sapphire in it's time (that were top version of it)...

Wanna bet it will sell like hot buns ?

It will be like throwing chicken in to pool full of alligators - where gators are hungry gamers.

More than 150€ for this is a waste of money.

Its a 100E card, but for 300E is a bargain in this market , haha.

This might ride the line of bad enough to be good but not so much that it could get scalped too high. It's horrible but I kinda want some disappointing releases so there are some actual on the shelf choices out there under half a kidney. However, performance results will be the deciding factor for me.

4.0 x4 ------ doesn't matter this GPU will be fine with this bandwidth, anymore just adds more cost to the board and less profits.
64bit bus ------- infinity cache will help mitigate the low bus width
4gb gddr6 memory --------- miners won't want this card due to 4GB and this is fine for low to medium textures on most popular games and its 18Gbps.

People need to start seeing this for what it is, its a supped up APU GPU core with more CU's, infinity cache and access to high speed GDDR6 memory rather than standard system RAM.

Its not meant to max out every game, also with RSR coming in the driver it could be used at 720p/900p upscaled to 1080p for extra performance.

Sure I agree it should of been $149 MSRP.

I'm liking that this is a single-slot card. Besides price (which this GPU is terrible at), the main benefit of low-end cards is that they don't need a lot of cooling and can be used in more compact builds. I always find it stupid when you have a product like this taking up 2 slots when it's under 75W. You can easily (albeit, not silently) dissipate 150W in a single slot, so I don't get why these low-power cards always take up so much space. A true ITX build needs single-slot cards.

Nah, I agree with kapu on this:
I agree with all of this. If it were $100, I think it'd be perfectly fine for what it is. At its current price, I'd rather get a 3050.

I've already explained it to you once.32mb will barely work even at 1080p

I've never disagreed with anything you've said, other than the fact that you keep saying this card won't be decent/good for 1080p gaming. When it will.

Like I have said before I have a smaller ITX rig with a 4650G paired with only 3200MHz CL14 RAM and a GPU buffer of 4GB.

The iGPU is overclocked to 2.2GHz and the CPU is overclocked to 4.4GHz.

The iGPU is only a Vega 7 and I am able to play the majority of esports titles and indie games perfectly fine at 720p/900p low settings and still get above 30-60fps. Hell Forza 5 runs at 1080p low and gets a locked 30fps using the in game resolution scalar.

Saying this card won't do 1080p low to medium or even high in some games is plain wrong.

yeah and 1080p low will cost you 300eur
this card is just as,if not more, overpriced than any other new gen card.
it's just most of it is msrp already.

so a 300eur card can do what a 5700g at 350 can too
that is a real money grab from amd

seriously,if anyone buys this for an entry level gaming rig when there are apus available they've been made a fool of by amd's marketing.

vast majority crying about this gpu wont buy it. acting like its supposed to be as fast as a 5600xt or something. pure clown talk.
look at performance of rx 550 or rx 5500.
