looks like every piece of crap that comes with the box and can't compete with aftermarket coolers in the slightest.

I liked 2005. It had better games.

bet it cools as good as there old retail coolers too, but hey the now on led light banwagon too

Look like my old Zalaman fan which will to bet cools better then this too, but time will tell

The only good F.E.A.R game other then maybe 2, 3 was was atrocious

That thing is supposed to cool 65W? I can see it being sufficient for an i3, maybe a low-end i5 without an iGPU. Nothing more than that. Maybe with the fans at 4500RPM on a cold winter's day with no dust on the metal it'll help an i7. Still unlikely.

I wouldn't mind having this for our 4690k. Looks like an ice cooler or something.

Looks like a massive chipset heatsink from 2005 as well ROFL.
    Pathetic Intel.

This seems to be even smaller than their current bad stock coolers and no matter how awesome the engineering might be pulling out every last ounce of perfomance they can from that fan and the amount of aluminium ... In the end of the day the thermal capacity and the heat dissipation per square cm is capped by the physics . Ideally if someone gets 100% the only way to get better cooling is increasing the thermal mass and dissipation area.

this loooks better... at least is full aluminium...

the new one is almost plastic. only the bast is aluminium.

Here's a larger photo. Talk about bizarre. I'm not understanding how this thing could cool anywhere near 65w unless those 4 pins are designed to line up with the corner holes on a mini-itx board. lol.

To be fair, it's capped by our knowledge of physics. I wouldn't be surprised if a little out of the box thinking comes up with an incredible leap in cooling technology where all of us will look at it in shock for missing it for so long.

Our understanding thermodynamics is pretty complete and veeeery well understood in this level, while i do not believe we have the perfect a design that can be 100% efficient we get very very close , if there is something to wow us would be different material or some way that will do the transfer faster . Or throwing in more energy to cool it faster than it heats up . Heat pipes made out of gold would do better job than copper in theory since gold transfers heat faster but has lower thermal capacity , i believe we bump into price perfomance spike to do that 200 grams of gold would be what ? 10000 usd ? :p how much 0-2c lower worth ? :p

I like picture where the cooler sit on top of the PCIE slots next to a water block, looks to me that it's designed for cooling the M2.
Most of the boxed coolers i had ended up at recycling factory.
This one is worst than the older ones since it contains so much plastic.
