Got these on my Asus G513QY with a 6800m today and played some games plus ran some benchmarks - everything seems to be working as normal and just as good as previous drivers in terms of overall performance.

Ok, I don't post much, but With these GAME releases, are they just adding setting updates to AMD's "Best Settings" page or something, or do game dev's use some secret unreleased Future driver while designing their games that AMD and nVidia are forced to append to their current drivers?

Why a release for a Certain game? Is most of the 500MB download just huge database of Game titles and their best Auto Performance settings so people don't have to choose crap inside the actual game? I mean, I'd rather just download the Graphics/Chipset/CPU etc driver without a database if that were so.

    Come test to find out.

  5. These drivers (21.11.3) don't have the newer ReLive VR implementation.

On the Halo Infinite and Blender 3.0 beta drivers, there's different bitrate choices (High = 170Mbps, Medium = 85Mbps, Low is still 5Mbps), and more headset choices too (Vive Focus, Quest 2, Pico). The older implementation only has 100/50/5Mbps bitrate options, and old PCVR headset choices (Vive, Vive Pro, CV1, and S).

Some cards could have issues rendering certain objects/textures or performance issues and the driver team fixes these issues. It has nothing to do with the settings page

ihv's need to stop patching broken games and tell the studio's to do it.

This would require IHVs to align their policy toward such things together. Probably not realistic, even Mesa devs implement game specific workarounds.

Microsoft already partly did the job with D3D12 and Khronos with Vulkan, violations must be allowed to take down the driver and not get caught and fixed in both of the new apis - unfortunately this means the vendors get more flak for issues that aren't actually their own to fix (yes thanks Massive).

Nvidia for example recently accidentally removed a workaround for an issue with AC Origins not having two buffers the exact same size when swimming below water and a the players boat is in the scene.

maybe they should make the new supported game update/profiles just downlodable from the radeon panel itself

reinstall every time the main driver is quite odd

Both AMD and Nvidia owners should play Origins and Odyssey with DXVK Async anyway. No cons vs DX11 in these 2 titles.

nvidia's multithreaded d3d11 is still more optimized than dxvk

In CPU bound frame rates: Yes. Though frame time variance is a bit better with DXVK in Odyssey (at least with pre 1.9) and even GPU bound performance is slightly higher than native D3D11.
amdvlk-pro loses more performance (20% in 4k GPU bound) and shader compiler produces corruption issues at night and in caves. AMD can't get their D3D11 driver right and don't care about issues with DXVK at the same time...

DXVK was NOT primarily written for AMD proprietary Vulkan driver, since beginning it's been developed against AMD RADV and Intel ANV open drivers.

After some time, Philip debugged DXVK against other drivers, even closed ones

Nothing indicates that DXVK wouldn't behave within specs, so it's a driver bug if it doesn't work.
Bug reports to DXVK with amdvlk-pro driver are almost always useless, as chances are extremely high that it's the only driver having corruption issues (apart from maybe some D3D9 stuff).

While this might be generally true, DXVK still posts better results in Origins and Odyssey specifically in regards to CPU bound areas or frametime consistency in general.

I'm not saying DXVK is an overall improvement in EVERY game on Nvidia GPUs.
