Is it worth upgrading to a ryzen 3700x from i7 6700k? I only game, and i play warzone mostly, should i get a 3060ti or upgrade to 3700x??
I m really finding it hard to let go of my i7 6700k as it works like a charm with everything i throw at it. So i need to do a money well spent and not get an incremental gain from the 3700x.
    I found a deal for 3700x / b450/ 24gb ram for 300 usd, what do u guys think?

    the card of course
    6700k to 3700x is a good upgrade,but really,580 to 3060ti is day and night
    3060ti runs 4K faster than 580 does 1080p,and you're getting dlss

A new Gpu would definitely yield more performance but he is playing CoD and Battlefield games and very soon realize his 4core is not up to the task keeping with the likes of 3060ti.

Idk im sure 4/8 would choke with 128players map.

i think you need to stop imagining that oc'd 4/8 cpus are useless these days
for mp's single core performance is as crucial as threads,6700K is gonna do fine

all depends your videocard, i´m using a gtx 1080 and with i7 2700k 4.7ghz i almost can´t see differences now with ryzen 5900x

but obviously with rtx 3060ti or better the difference will be enormous

U mean using higher resolution will make my cpu happy and not bottleneck a 3060ti?

I wouldnt, there is a definte drop in IPC from 6700K to 3xxx and its even worse for gaming.
I bought a 3600 in an emergency because my 6700K wasnt working.
The drop in gaming performance was quite large, I wasnt pleased.
Luckily I got the 6700K working again and gave the 3600 system to a Cousin.

The minimum upgrade I would consider worthwhile is to a 5600 or 10600/10700.

I see thanks for the input, however my question is, will i get rid of those fps dips into 70s while playing large scale team dm in warzone? When theres too many people shooting in the map, i drop fps from 95- 100 to 75.....

Drop in IPC from Skylake to Matisse? Dude... Ryzen 3000 IPC is higher. If you overclock the Skylake, you would be able to compensate for the lacking IPC. Factory overclocking was Intel's way to combat Ryzen, which led to the large power consumption when stressed. Only with Rocket Lake Intel started to experiment with getting the IPC up (with Intel 11th gen beating Ryzen 3000), and now with Alder Lake Intel finally reached Ryzen 5000 level of IPC.

If you were brainwashed by Intel a few years ago trying to redefine IPC into instructions per core (so that Intel pushing the clocks up would be rewarded), instead of instructions per cycle (clock), which is the industry definition, you should quickly recheck your definitions.

Didnnt find any single answer or anyone mentioning the nakatomi plaza area, it s a sudden drop to 70 fps when u look at the building, only looking at the building or either being inside the lobby there, a sudden 20 fps drop, very weird man unexplainable

Upgrading to a 3700X won't be satisfactory without really good RAM, Zen 2 gaming performance is still heavily dependent on good (sub) timings (and 3800 clock would be nice too).

For a 3700X the sweet spot 3600mhz Ram with cl 15/16 timings.. cpu infinity cache can get finicky above 1800mhz

I did rather goof making my point.

AMD 3600/3700 do not overclock for squat and need to as they are clocked lower than competing Intel parts.
Couple that with much lower gaming performance than would be expected for the IPC difference, the 3700 is not recommended as an upgrade from a 6700K.
As I said, I bought a 3600 and its gaming performance wasnt good at all compared to my 6700K.
