Absolutely no difference in performance whatsoever from the older drivers in dx12 or dx11.

No sir, it manifested before I had an opportunity to switch to 10-bit, and stayed after the switch to 10 bit.

With no apps open, the squares did not appear. With apps open they populated screen - but not over the open apps, only on desktop background.
I can drag mouse cursor over black polygons and the mouse curser stayed intact as if cursor was crossing over small black lakes in desktop. Apps can also occlude black polygons.

Its very strange, others are reporting same occurrences.

Currently I use nvslimmer on 472.12 with everything removed except the driver, audio, physx and nvi2 folders, The control panel gets installed and everything works just fine.
Can I get the same outcome with the 496.13 dch only package ?
I do not have Windows store, and telemetry is set to 0 in group policy.

but control panel download for DCH has has other relevant dependencies:

    Appx service must be running
MS Store cannot be disabled in gpo
    Windows firewall must be on
Software protection platform service has to be enabled

    nv slimmer does work,
but for telemetry reduction, after install you'll have to stop nvidia service, and manually delete the ras.dll from nv corp folder (do not delete the RAS folder itself), and reenable the nv service if you choose.

    Hope that helps.

FWIW, NVcleanstall.exe ver 1.10 worked fine with this driver 496.13. I just picked display driver, HD audio, and PhysX modules.
I did choose to add control panel option one and MSI mode for IRQ, all worked fine.

Does anybody know what the "Driver Default" value is in the shader cache size option? I doubt it is 512mb because there is an option to choose 512mb in the drop down.
It would have been nice if Nvidia listed the size next to the driver default setting.

what do you guys think the best option is for setting the shader cache size too? Im using a 1tb 980 pro for C: drive lol so no size constraints.

Also where is the shader cache located? Everybody on the internet it seems thinks they are stored in the DXCache folder but I disabled it in NVCP then checked the DirectX Shader Cache box when doing a disk cleanup but after a restart the DXCache folder is the same size & has the same files in it

I am also seeing the weird black flashes on my desktop as well. Thought my monitor was going bad but reverted back drivers and I don't have the issue. Hopefully they fix it.

Disk cleanup shader cache is completely separate to the drivers shader caches.

The original bug was caused by the EDID to some extent. What mode do you typically set your display to so I can ask our team to revisit this.

The NVIDIA Control Panel is part of the NVIDIA installer now.

Can you now install dch driver over the top of standard to keep settings or do you have to uninstall standard first and the install dch?

there will be a migratory step that involves uninstalling the existing container and control panel packages when you install the dch package ontop of the standard package,

you can then delete the contents of the nvidia corporation folders except for the installer2 (in Program Files) and the Physx (under Program files (x86) if they are left behind

there may also be other folders here that belong to nvidia demo's, software, etc that you should keep.

    Deletable (Program files\nvidia corporation)
    Control Panel Client
    coprocmanager
    Display
    Display.NvContainer
    DisplayDriverRAS
    NVFBC
    nvgsync
    NvProfileUpdater
    NVSMI
    NvTopps

    Deletable (Program files (x86)\nvidia corporation)
    coprocmanager
    Display.NvContainer

I don't know if it has been pointed out...

@ManuelG Tom Clancy's The Division 2 may display graphical artifacts. [200754013]

If one deletes the "ShaderCache" folder from "Documents\My Games\Tom Clancy's The Division 2" there is no more artifacts. It's a Shader bug with the game that has to be rebuilt once the game is launched after removing that folder.

Yes, you can install right on top of the old standard drivers and keep all settings. The only difference you will notice between this and standard installation is that you will see a very brief popup about downloading the control panel from the Microsoft store now.
