HI there when Im trying to get into Program Setting tab(its starting to search apps)control NVCP isclosing. its all ok when in global setting tab :/ I did already clean driver instal with DDU Driver 466.11 windows 10 64
The NVCP crashes when a detected exe exists in a path that is too long, you apparently have such a game and it was recently added to the internal games database.
Really?! I've had this happen recently, but I soon installed new drivers with a clean install. Should this happen again, is there a way to remove the offending application profile?
Narrowing it down requires procmon (which will require a reboot to clear from memory afterwards, else flagged by most anticheats) It's not just the Executable itself which could be too long, the nvcp also scans the desktop and startmenu for games and folder depth here counts too.
reproduce the issue and selectively exclude anything unrelated to that isn't reading a shortcut or executable
paths that don't exist are not usually a crash cause, i believe deleting c:\ProgramData\NVIDIA Corporation\Drs\nvAppTimestampst might do the trick.
If you are still seeing this issue and would be willing to let me capture logs from your PC so that our driver team can examine the cause, can you email me at driverfeedback@nvidia.com? Thank you.
