I don't think we've really seen that much at all.
Even the trailers they've shown all seem to show the same stuff.

This new story trailer has shown the most, but even then doesn't show much.

Was just about to come and post the same review.

I'm still watching it but my main takeaway already is I hope you can disable those insanely large icons over enemies' showing what weapon they have and their location.

The whole thing also has a very... arcadey feeling to it?
Yes insert your but-you-like-Doom-Eternal jokes here.

I guess for me the gunplay will be a major deal breaker in the end.

Graphically doesn't exactly impress - except for art direction - but there's only so much you can tell from a video.

EDIT: Arkane standard: apparently PC version runs less than optimally, oh well.

EDIT 2: The Revenge: combat and abilities should be good but eh....

Seems like this is a watered-down Dishonored, with roque-lite elements, with a 60's aesthetic.
I was hopping for something much better, from a studio like Arkane.
Ad the bad optimization, and this seems like a disappointment.
And the voice acting seems to be really bad.
Might pick it up a year from now, at some sale, with a heavy discount. But this doesn't seem like a game worth full price.

The game is also too easy, so also nothing for me, why i would get bored soon.

(The point where you're op is sooner than in other games if you want to compare it like that)

From what I’ve seen and heard from reviews it sounds more like a Hitman type of time loop game than a rogue lite.

I've long since stopped paying attention to Gman's reviews.
More often then not I find I disagree with a lot of his points, and seems... so many videos he's quick to throw out a "there's performance problems, here's my PC spec"....
Yet, never once mentions that he's playing a pre-release build that does not contain final fixes, updates, day one patches... and so on.

His Serious Sam 4 review was terrible for that exact reason.

The game seems to have an interesting gameplay idea behind it, but the videos fail to sell me on a full priced title. Looks more like something to pick up later during a sale, when the game has been patched to a better state.

  16. IGN 10/10 -> wait for sale

The idea seems underutilized if all you ever do is repeat the exact same missions and settings without any chance to create variation.

Still can't tell for sure from videos but not a day 1 buy for me either, maybe later.

I played SS4 back in July of this year, after receiving a few patches. But it stuttered a lot.
That game had a ton of performance problems.
Only after disabling texture streaming, was I able to play the game.
This was not just some problem of the preview build.

Serious Sam games, have been very well optimized games, but for some reason SS4 was a mess.
This is really strange because I had replayed SS3, the First and Second Encounters in Fusion, with Vulkan, and it ran like a dream.

That doesn't sound like much fun. I've also came across people mentioning heavy microstutter, akin to the launch of Dishonored 2, and other technical difficulties. I guess that this will forever be the legacy of IdTech5, upon which the Void Engine is based (and the STEM Engine that powered Evil Within 2). I'd rather at this point buy some of the remastered Activision platformers. Different genre, sure, but more bang for buck and all that.

Thanks I'll try that tweak too! Do you just type those into console?

My experience largely matches yours, game runs no better (actually a bit worse) now than it did on release.
    Indeed the stuttering kills it.

All Fusion games run great in Vulkan mode.
