Is this card defective? anyone heard of a computer booting with a card- seeing all the lighting but no signal etc?

Make sure the card is seated in the PCI-e slot properly. If still no signal, try another slot even if it's only 8x. Another thing is to reset your bios. Also make sure your video cable is securely in and if so, try another Displayport or HDMI port on the card.

bios is reset, i can not use my other pcie slot because of nvme ssd. Currently that slot was working on my old 3080 so i don't think its the slot. Tested all connectors, i don't think its that because it should still technically show up in the device manager.

How can you see it's not in device manager if you have no video signal.

What about the PCI-e 8 pin power connectors. Are they plugged in tightly. What are the rest of your PC specs.

Sounds like it's defective then. If it's that new, you should be able to do a straight swap for another one.

There's lots of similar reported problems with the 3080ti. A VBIOS update fixed the problem on my card.

If you're using display port, try HDMI.

Most issues occur when using pure UEFI. Switching on CSM in your mobo BIOS might improve things.

i couldn't even get presicion to load up, it was literally not being detected in the port- as if the port was broken but i just swapped out a 3080 from that port. anyway i am cross-rmaing this sucker so hopefully i get a good one back.

    Which 3080 Ti?
Just got a TUF 3080 Ti OC Edition yesterday, had issues on one DP port so tried the other, worked better but still some issues.
Checked the support page and noticed a BIOS update which adresses a DP issue, flashed, clean installed the driver and everything was fine.

Did you check if there is a BIOS update for the card?

Mine didn't show anything before Windows was loaded, opening applications made the output/input detection play dirty tricks, was worse on the DP that is labeled for second monitor input, only the BIOS update fixed it.

Have you tried the second PCIE slot on you motherboard too? Just to make sure.

Blind flash with a bootable USB.
I would try the second PCIE slot first though.

i should not need to blind flash with onboard video.

Your right, forgot that your on a CPU with a video output. :)

Try the second slot though, if it is detected there something else is up.

np, anyway i think evga would have suggest that before rma. problem is no fans turn when powering on. so something either got disconnected or forgotten to connect. either way i should have a replacement by Monday and i can ship the old card back cuz evga rocks if you got problems. this is my first problem with them, not uncommon with these chips tho it seems.
