I'm not really looking forward to this game. I did like the story , however the gameplay mechanics and visuals were not that great by the time it finally hit PC after many delays. Seeing this is rather a remaster then remake, does not help either.
Oh hell yes! Editing thread title to match. Additionally given what Remedy has told previously this pretty much confirms Alan Wake 2 is in the works.
Alan Wake 2 is a big reason this remaster is happening. The original release of Alan Wake was an Xbox 360 exclusive. And was later ported to PC, by Remedy in an amazing PC port. But, the title never appeared on Sony. And, did not sell well on consoles as it released the same day as RDR. Remedy have always said Alan Wake is the game they hold the most dear, with Sam Lake saying it's the one title he's the most proud of. But, making a sequel has always been problematic as they couldn't financially afford to do so. And publishers weren't willing to back it because of the original game's poor sales at release. But, now, being completely independent... fully owning the Alan Wake IP, and coming off the success of Control, the studio is in a position to finally be able to deliver the quality of experience they want with AW2. But, a good business move to make before 2... bring the original back. But make it available for everyone. Sony players that didn't get it the first time. Expand your consumer base.
And with a bit of Epic's money in the pocket... I do understand why these deals appeal to devs though and AW is one series where I couldn't care less where it's sold, I'll buy.
After the Max Payne i think Alan Wake is probably best remedy's game. I was hopping for a full blown sequel but this is not bad. More people should play this game before Alan Wake 2.
I used to think that too but these days I think Control is Remedy's best. It's an amalgamation and evolution of all Remedy had done well with some new ideas.
Alan Wake is my favorite Remedy game. But, Control is right up there with it. Quantum Break is good, but definitely the weakest game they've ever made. It feels the least like "Remedy" out of their entire library. Mostly because it's the only one Sam Lake didn't write.
Amazon just posted the game, so these might just be the first in game screenshots. I'll post a few here, there's more in the amazon link https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09FM89...75a93b3aee324&language=en_GB&ref_=as_li_ss_tl And now, a comparison Old: New Old: New:
Getting this for sure. Alan Wake was one of the best game I played when it came out and I absolutely loved the story.
Well, good thing is it looks like Alan Wake. Annoying thing with those comparisons, looks like they are using the original Xbox 360 release instead of the PC release that featured updated textures. But, still, the only thing AW needed updating was it's facial animations, which where very stiff.
Seems that way. It was working when I posted it. Here's the same pictures, on another site https://www.dsogaming.com/screensho...leaked-screenshots-showcase-its-new-graphics/
No. It's was the cover and the screenshots. Rumors says it will be presented at todays Sony event. Maybe a date will be presented.
