ok didnt know that, but shouldn't I get random crashes with other games then? Only RDR2 crashes, and it has been more often since the last update.

cyberpunk never crashed on me, Division 2,COD, project car 2, BF4 and V neither...surely if it was ram those games would crash as well.

I just played for almost 2 hours now with vsync and tripple buffiering on without crashing.
I am pretty sure RDR2 does something to make my system unstable software wise.

Run your RAM 200 to 400 MHz slower or loosen the timings, see if it still crashes.

It was not the ram...tried going down from 3600 CL16 to 3200 CL 18 and it still crashed.

However I disabled windows page file, and no more crash to report.
So definitely something going on with the game and win10.

*Edit: scratch that still crashes...the game is broken for me, and apparently for a lot of other people.
Random crashes happens pretty often for a lot of people, some every 10mins, others after an hour or two.

Have been playing this for a couple of weeks now. Wow, i'm impressed, i'm loving the slower pace of the game. Have been having a ball hunting, lassoing and crafting tonics and food. Love Dead Eye. This game truly is epic. I can see myself getting engrossed in the story for many months to come.

I’ve been noticing that despite a steady 60fps and fairly steady frame times that cutscenes in this look kind of choppy/jittery. I’ve noticed the same thing in GTAV. As soon as the cutscene is over it’s all smooth again. What’s going on with this? Is there any fix?

The only thing the game is missing, is the soundtrack from the good the bad and the ugly - especially "esctasy of gold" during the big heists !

Dont get me wrong, soundtrack is already great, but that would elevate it to god-like levels :p

I always got my own mp3list playing in the background when playing rdr2. And yes Morricone's masterpieces are all in there. Boosts the atmosphere 300%

    Just started playing this.
A tad slow at start, but has now picked up with major gunfights.
Very polished product as always from R *

Yeah, the start is very tough to get through, partly cause it is so slow, but also cause the prologue is 2 hours where you can't save, so if you close the game you gotta restart if you didn't finish the prologue... pretty terrible decision on rockstars part.

What? You can save during the prologue. I saved like 3 or 4 times during it.

Really... they must have (wisely) changed that since launch. I ended up replaying the prologue 3 times due to it.

On Xbox you could at launch. I was able to save during my first play through at launch. There are certain times you can’t save but between missions you always could.

I thought the PC version wasn’t out until several months after launch?

Is there a way to turn off taa permanently? Starting a new RDR2 session, taa is always reset into active state. So I fear, any manual taa setting is overwritten / reset by the programming. Is there a way to force taa off via special tweaking? I wanna play RDR2 @native 4K without that crappy, smearing taa and without other picture reducing quality filters (like DLSS). And no I don't wanna use supplementary filters, that resharp a previously manipulated, distorted image.

    I' talking about the pc\vulkan\edition.

Sigh... when it launched on pc... -_-

You can make the settings file read only - then the game cant change it. It is pretty facking annoying it keeps changing it to TAA high now - personally i want to use TAA medium, which is alot less blurry.
