Any chance at all this is software/driver related or is my GPU dead? Artifacting when PC is idle in desktop or light workloads like browsing the web. Started this morning after turning on my PC, last night all was fine.

Update, I just got BSOD. Quick Google reveals this is common problems with RTX 3080?

    Check your memory temps.

This is really weird, I rebooted PC after bluescreen and artifacts disappeared... how can this be? Also ran GPU stress test multiple times and it's fine. So strange...

As for mem temps they are fine, 40C idle, 85C load.

3080 TUF has a good cooler.

Am I the only one that has issue with win 11 and the start menu showing up invisible after waking up my monitor. All I see is a outline of it. Restarting start menu / search fixes it

I've had similar artifacts on my tuf 3080 OC edition with one of the very earliest drivers in a game I had.Going to another driver fixed it.

Same here, but was after an oc and test. Dissapeared after reboot. This card has a tendency to overshoot greatly when applying an oc, the boost feature is quite aggressive.
So yes, some drivers let the card boost higher than others, plus on some games the oc stays good, while on other games it overshoots.
Browsing with firefox made it apparent in those instances.

I has this problem once with my RTX 3090 and the 471.68. All was ok after a reboot. Never had the problem again (for now...)

I'm shocked there is no hotfix for the I/O writes yet.

IKR! I am afraid that there's only one ill reason for this, though.

thats a big high temps considering ASUS TUF 3080 has an excellent cooler. I have the same one in OC, and it barely brakes 65C~ Why is yours almost 20C higher....if the core is tha thigh...i wonder how the memory is holding up!.

You got it wrong, like I said these are memory temps. And 85C is very good for a 3080, because 3080 from other brands can run memory at 95C or even 100C+.
I haven't had these artifacts for days. All back to normal now. So perhaps this is a rare driver bug.

Can confirm i've also seen it once. With an illegal instruction encoding event in event viewer.

I also had this twice with my MSI RTX 3080 Suprim X. Restarting my computer fixed the problem "obviously" temporary. The problem appeared for me the first time with 471 series driver.
Can not confirm the memory temp theory. In my case the memory and the gpu idles arround 30C and under load arround 55 - 60C "hotspot temp" (watercooler).

Same issue here today. Booted my PC up and watched few youtube vids and I got same artifacts on this driver and Windows Froze. Luckily I was able to Alt Ctrl Del and reboot windows. After reboot, nothing. This on Galax 3080 SG.

So it seems to be a driver issue. I would hate to RMA my card in current market conditions.

theres no driver issue that goes away with reboot.

turn off fast startup, its just not stable on your computer for some reason.
