All that with zen4 and rdna3 being on track for 2022 is a good news.

Well when they manage to get over 900 Euro out of the likes of me for their new high-end processor of course profits will be up.

So did I except PSU and ram.
Every gaming computer i have built since 2017 has been ryzen
    1500x, r5 1600, 2600x [x370] 2700x[x470] 5600x[x570] and also have 1920x X399 thread ripper.

Ill skip am5 first gen. My 5600x should hold up for two years.

It's only good if they put that money back into R&D, or production.

While AMD is breaking records, Intel is busy shuffling PR numbers around in a vain effort to "appear" as close to AMD's CPU product line as possible (Intel is now calling its 10nm process simply "7" to try and appear equal to TSMC's 7nm, etc. Notice that Intel is not claiming its 10nm process is actually a 7nm process--nope, the "7" is a standalone number Intel pulled out of a hat...;) nm need not apply.). A real demonstration of the fact that products trump vaporware every single time...;)

i have no fear of AMD resting on its laurels or deciding to pursue R&D less vigorously.

every single move Dr. Su has taken has lead to this point. and she's faced down doubters and haters every step of the way.
every step from design to the execution of details has progressed just as she's planned, except better.
she hoped to gain a workstation toehold, AMD now controls the market. she's hoped that real world performance would overcome marketing, now that marketing has stopped talking about "glue" and started to talk about how close they are to each other. lol

I wouldn't say we know that, though it is very probable. Unlike Intel's leaders, Lisa is thankfully not the type to sit back when things get easy, but, AMD has been getting substantially more expensive. That's the kind of behavior you see from a company that's getting cocky, and/or less focused on the best interest of the consumers. We'll be seeing more from their R&D, for now.

Of course, all of this is very skewed, because supply isn't keeping up with demand; AMD might as well profit from those willing to spend extra if everything is going to get sold-out anyway..

99% more sales sounds great, and I've contributed to this number. But how does that relate to competition? Haven't Intel sold more than AMD?

Still a damn good cpu! I just got lucky on upgrades. The 1600 cost me $35,the 2600x was free, 2700x was $375 cpu, board, h115i, 16gb DDR2 3200, and GTX 780.

Paid $475 for the 1920x TR setup.
    Board, cpu, 32gb 3200, GT 1030.
