I'm not sure if it's the way you have written this article or the reality of what they intend but it sounds like Microsoft will just update people to 11, then after the fact if the user is not happy they have to go through the process of getting back to 10?

If Windows 11 is a new operating system as opposed to just being a fancy reskinned Windows 10 then that means it'll come with its own share of new bugs and glitches so I do not think I would want to upgrade at launch anyway (even if I could as an owner of an 8 year-old i7-4770K PC). It's not like Windows 10 is bug-free; it still has some annoyances and bugs plus the overall design which is a mix of the new modern UI and the old stuff from prior versions of Windows makes it feel unfinished at times.

    I wouldn't consider switching to Win11 before 2022.

For now win11 is a pass for me. I don't dig the visuals. The requirements are whatever to me. Except the TPM / secure boot crap.

10 days? I guess they are addressing ppl who dont make backups. Anyone with an image backup can restore W10 anytime after 10 days.

Il probably use it initially on my HTPC Laptop if the HW meets the requirements, then see how it goes from there.

Been on 11 for some time now. Relax. So far everything I use works great. Games, Xbox game pass, steam, printer, programs/apps, media, etc. all just work. Even EA crap works.
Only issue i have noticed is an overly aggressive UAC. I have to give some programs permissions that were not needed on 10. not really a big deal.

Can uac be disabled? I never got that far into testing it before going back to 10, that would be pretty bad if it cannot be disabled.

Me too, it's more a W10+ than a real W11, the linux things on it are really better than on W10.
The only bad point is that you can't have (for now :) ) the 2 complete OS on 1 computer.
But yes it's not bad (edit: exept the requierement that is clearly stupid as it is just a W10+).

Win 11 is causing more troubles than it's worth. It doesn't offer any improvement in performance so I'll pass. Not a new os, just a sneaky naming to make you think it is.

In some cases it actually reduces performance.

Idk, I've played several games now on Windows 11 and the only one I'm having a problem with is Starcitizen. Every other game performs identically to 10. To me the OS even in it's unfinished state is much better than 10.

Switched back due to performance drop in some benchmarks (games), but I needed to re-seat CPU and disable TPM 2.0 to actually install a W10 again without errors when windows requested first reboot (after copying files).
