Sony acquires Nixxes, specialist in porting / optomizing console game to PC

If this means more Playstation "exclusives" will be released on PC and sooner, then it's good news.

Horizon Zero Dawn was not made on PC by Nixxes, at leasts thats what was Sony and Guerilla Games were telling people, it was some super small 3rd party studio that $ony didn't even mention they name.

 

So the entire back catalogue for god of war will be playable at 4k in the next few years then.

 

Honestly I don't understand why they didn't do that sooner. If they're selling consoles at a loss, you don't even need to sell a console to sell a game to someone if you let PC users in.

For HZD it was Virtuous/Virtuos afaik. It was also crap for the first 6 months at least.

 

Come on sony give us god of war and uncharted but you can keep the last of us. We dont want that.

Bloodborne (60fps version lol) and Demon's Souls Remaster would see my money in Sony's coffers!

 

It probably ends up being more profitable going the console route. After all, despite PC platform being far larger, it also has massive competition and selling title at a full price is quite a bit more difficult than on a console.

 

So, from being an exclusive on PS to being an exclusive on PC and the PS owners have to wait? Or is this phrased incorrectly?

 

Because they want people buying all or most of their games in the PSN store, not buying Sony's exclusives in someone else's store. I would wager there are many more "PlayStation only" gamers than there are "Xbox only" gamers. I personally know many more people who are faithfully dedicated to the PlayStation brand than any other single ecosystem.

 

I think where we are heading here is that:

1) there will be ANOTHER major launcher for PC
2) I think in short time here both Microsoft and Sony will get in a buying war for every studio worth something.
The effect of this is you possibly will only have half the games available to you as you do now because the consoles
will shut each other out. So there will end up being a huge consolidation of game studios which will be terrible
for the consumer.

 

Days Gone is not a console port. It is an Unreal Engine 4 game which you just package your project to PC with only one click.

 

Nixxes dd Deus ex HR and Deus ex MD, didnt people hate those ports when they first came out? alot people still see Deus ex HR to be buggy still. I would not call them specialists or good at optimising, but i really have seen anything recent from them

 

Whats Optomizing means? Is that like Optimizing but with Optics?

 

No Tomb Raider was optimised and ported by Fereal Interactive as am linux gamer and the deal they had was not with Sony it was with Crystal Dynamics
