I have AMD 1950X so I don't have the Bios Reziable Bar, I only have the 4G Decoding.

So what can cause my issue then?

Is 4G Decoding disable in the Bios? if not disable it and try if you get random stuttering/frame drop. the random stuttering/framerate drop lock the framerate to 55fps/115fps with vsync for a few secs stuttering due to GPU memory clock lowering to 800mhz.

  3. Could that be worked-around by forcing max perf clocks for games, instead of having dynamic clocks?

It's a AMD driver issue when 4G Decoding/Resizable Bar is enable since 21.3.1, you can try forcing it to max clock.

  5. Did it happen with both above 4G decode and Resizeable BAR enabled? Or only Resizble BAR?

Both 4G decode and Resizable Bar enable, bios won't allow you to have Resizable Bar only on.

  7. If you disable Resizable BAR, but keep above 4G decode enabled, does the perf/clock issue still happen?

Freesync makes things worse when there isn't a smooth framerate in its working FPS range and that is widely known for years now. Point is if you tried and helped you or not.

    Quick update :
    - Replaced my HDMI cable which seems to be a bit 'loose' on screen side (touching plug was creating artifacts)
    - Turned of hardware acceleration in edge
    > Seems stable, no crash on Detroit Become Human for example (21.6.1 Drivers)

Then I figured out I can change API for Edge hardware accelation : edge://flags/ => Choose ANGLE graphics backend => OpenGL

Now hardware acceleration with Edge seems functionnal ... will continue testing.

If that can help someone :)

You misunderstand this setting, all you've done is changed WebGL from ANGLE to native opengl,

The browser is still using D2D+Write for composition.

Thank you, I had an issue also with OpenGL setting so I changed to DirectX 9 ... testing again but seems it would not solve my problem, right ?
Do you have any idea why hardware acceleration seems to be a problem with Polaris and latest drivers ?

Anyone else got this when installing this drivers?

I went as far as reinstalling Windows from scratch to try and fix this, but as soon as I install the drivers, every reboot it happens.

It's like Windows Update. You have to disable driver updates through windows update.

I got that when I enabled rebar in bios. After reboot never happened again.

Internet was disabled after DDUed the drivers as I know that WU will download drivers. I had also disabled it via DDU.
And so was after a format.
    It can't be the that.

Thank you, I will try this.
I have no support for ReBar though. But, can't lose anything by trying.

I disabled 4G Decoding, using 2.6.1 now, I will test.

ati pixel clock patcher is not working with this driver. i have a bios modded rx 480 and i have been using previous drivers with ati pixel clock patcher without any issues till now. but whenever i install this driver and run the pixel clock patcher to disable bios signature check in the driver, the driver doesnt load and keeps on crashing. radeon software doesnt run. any workarounds for this? or the pixel clock patcher will need to be updated for this driver?

it didn't help disabling 4g decoding. still stuttering.... I kept freesync on. but I don't believe it what causing it. anything else?

Confirmed that disabling ReBar in the BIOS fixed this.

Thank you. Was driving me insane!
