Help with my DDR4 Hynix DJR

Is my Ram Ok for my R5 3600?

Do i need to tweak something?

I posted here because in games i'm experiencing some stuttering.

What would Ram have to do with stuttering in PC gaming. Your running CL16 3733 your timing are normal.

Even if you have lower Ram settings with good timings ,there should be no problems. List your system and what resolution and PC gaming settings, if stuttering it may be as simple your RX Vega 4GB card can not handle your PC settings turn settings down on the PC games and use the AMD FSR driver for more FPS

i'm playing in 1080p@165hz and i cant get rid of the stutter (especially 1% lows).
All settings Low (in Destiny 2 and CSGO)
My specs:
R5 3600 (PBO)
2x8gb 3600C17@3733C16 (Hynix D-Die)
Rx Vega 56 Pulse @HBM 950mhz (hynix)

 

Command rate is set to 2, this could be reducing performance, try setting it to 1, if this proves unstable, try with geardownmode on.

Some things to try, if you want

• First always do a clean uninstall of all drivers related to AMD. You can use Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) or AMD uninstaller
• Sometimes network connectivity issues are very common with those two PC games with stuttering. Install MSI Afterburner which you have since you know 1% lows are low. If there above 60 FPS it is not a problem and your expecting to much from your system. See MSI afterburner thread if you do not know how to check frame times.
  
• Turn off overdrive on your monitor and try setting monitor to 120Hz and see if there is a difference.
• Close unnecessary programs while running these PC games , including services in MSCONFIG except MS programs, turn off all monitoring software also.
  
• Disable Fullscreen Optimizations on the PC games , right click on the .exe for the PC game and select properties.
  
• Disable exploit protection settings for PC Game only and not system wide {data execution data prevention (DEP) and control flow guard (CFG)} just try to see if it helps. Turn back on if it does nothing
• Change Windows performance options (turn off everything), also change Windows power plan I suggest Ultimate power plan. Windows Power Plans
• Clean temporary files on all drives you may have.
• Move PC games that are affected to SSD drives, just to load quicker.

For the start try a SAFE settings, if feeling little adventurous, try FAST settings.

 

It is a known problem with Destiny that has yet to be corrected. AMD GPUs just do not perform well.

EDIT: What has worked for Destiny before in the past, was not and is not obvious, raise the render resolution. That typically gets AMD cards working better with the game.

 

destiny 2 performance has been corrected in 21.6.x and the current client, tangled shore especially.

 

Unless you are competent at memory overclocking, I would suggest staying away from the dram calculator.
You risk creating serious issues such as corrupting windows files, ask yourself if you are confident repairing a windows that wont boot before you try your hand at memory overclocking.
It is highly unlikely that your memory speed and timings are causing your issue.

 

Tried all of these and still stutters., but a lot less.
My question is: is Really Worth tigher timings or is just waste of time?
3733@Cl16 Tuned is Much Better then 3733@CL17 (XMP)?

 

Never had the issue, at least with SAFE profile, but it's better it change the values one by one, test and the continue with other ones, not all at once.

 

Well I highly doubt it is your Ram. I think you should show a video of your problem ,as it could just be the PC games with Sometimes network connectivity issues and AMD GPU.

Anyway the Ram timings you mentioned are nothing at all and would not make any difference at all in your PC Games 1%lows/AVG

EG:
Tuned Ram Battlefield 5 and Grand Theft Auto 1920x1080 with 2933Mhz vs 3866Mhz on AMD CPU. Same1%lows/AVG although these were not the PC games you mentioned.

 

I'm using the "Manual" profile on the Dram Calculator (with the XMP settings) and its buttery smooth now.

I suggest you disable memory compression if you are using windows 10.

Why?

 

He doesn't know why. its safe to disable it its a feature that most people don't need . It can cause stuttering which is the problem you were experiencing that's why I suggested it.

start a powershell with admin and run

Disable-MMAgent -mc

then reboot.

to reenable it

start a powershell with admin and run

Enable-MMAgent -mc

then reboot.

It's safe to disable, however it causes performance issues in a number of games and is not the cause of any such issues otherwise.
